mastodon 4.7.3A bio so people don't think I am a bot: I used to make punk rock fanzines and that's where I got the username. I sometimes make little free roleplaying games, and you can find those on rpggeek.com

@alice@lgbtqia.space @evan@cosocial.ca @paul@oldfriends.live Evan, it sounds like you think a server admin opting in means that every user on that server has consented. That is not the case. You still have to ask for consent.

@deinol@dice.camp Some items my D&D group has enjoyed lately:
- bag of ball bearings
- broken orrery
- giant pearl that is secretly an egg of some sort
- food critic's notebook

@jacqueline @ailurux Update: I love this! Before this came out I was doing heaps of manual metadata edits, now audiobooks just magically work. Chapeau.

@superflippy @roadriverrail For me I was too anxious to focus properly on a book and I could only watch mindless TV or play mindless games.

@kroltan@functional.cafe @mogwai_poet@mastodon.social The US is pretty much the only country without one of these. Even Bangladesh has one. It's basically the same story as health insurance as to why.

@Taskerland I would love it if all the RPG folks who call things zines would get the scissors & paste out like in an actual zine.

@grahamdunning We did the acid bath thing too my hazy recollection is that instead of letraset we had some kind of special paint pen to mask out the tracks.

@jacqueline The firmware updates have made it a completely different & much better device than it was on day one, so I would guess a lot of the criticisms are outdated. The only thing I'd really change about it is to update the bluetooth support. You made a really cool gadget.

@desolationpark@mastodon.art Deluxe Paint IV and AMOS were really powerful for the day, much easier to use for game / demo development than modern stuff

@cstross@wandering.shop @cmdrSprocket@mathstodon.xyz It just takes a few campaign donations and a light sprinkling of regulatory capture...

@catalina@selfy.army @rachaelspooky@cyberpunk.lol Waterfox is better IMO. With LibreWolf I had trouble with some sites I need for work (like Miro). Try them both and decide for yourself though.

@stargirl@hachyderm.io @rastilin@aus.social This. If I want to run some perl code, pretty much any old code will run on any interpreter version. With python it's a crapshoot as to what will happen on any given machine.

@brucelawson@social.vivaldi.net @TonyVladusich@mathstodon.xyz Is the one on the right animated or does my brain make the background suddenly and dramatically change colour? Aaargh.

@inpc Also never underestimate the value of postering. As a rule of thumb, one A3 poster in a high foot traffic area will get you one person through the door on the night, so poster everywhere you can.

@spaceluciolle "Travel clock" are the search keywords for this sort of thing. Here's an example from Amazon (haven't used this model myself): https://www.amazon.com.au/AMIR-Foldable-Calendar-Temperature-Countdown/dp/B0DKWQ4GTT

@aeva@mastodon.gamedev.place @jame@wetdry.world Now do the same chart with Chrome market share and Google CEO pay.

@fazalmajid @cstross My experience has been that all of the Liquid stuff is completely optional on phones and conputers. It sucks but you don't have to use it unless you're a keen masochist. On AppleTV you're stuck with it but it's fairly unobtrusive.

@dangoodin@infosec.exchange Tangara is really good now with the latest firmware. It's out of stock but sometimes people sell them on the Tangara forums (or if you're an electronics nerd you can build one).
