My parents were prepper nutbags. I had to do hard wilderness survival exercises. People have no idea how hard that is. You can die from a papercut. Also, you can't shoot down a stratobomber with your AR. Nevermind you can't mobiles enough people without getting exposed. Violence will only result in the most violent and wealthy gaining power. Any other outcome is almost total fantasy.

I know several who've had similar experience. Ditto for Slavnation Army and their treatment of LGBT people. They care about power. They get to chose who is 'good' and everyone they don't like can die in a ditch. But don't take my word for it, review the parable of the Good Samaritan.

Are they inherently corrupt or is their sway towards capitalism the corrupting force? I feel Orwell was a better writer than most of the people who quote him.

No sooner than I'd finished making elderberry syrup, a neighbor posted that they had a ton of fresh off the tree quince first come first serve.

All in all, today I made 4.5 pints of elderberry syrup, 5.25 pints of quince butter, and 2 pints of quince sauce with another few pounds of quince left to decide what to do with tomorrow.

Had to get out the big bowl!

Picked nearly a gallon of elderberries yesterday. There were still a lot more. Always feels rewarding to have to get out the big pot.

Now to make jam, and possibly elderberry mead.

Gotta use them quick! Elderberries are frustrating in that you can't snack on them while picking and prepping them.

Buddhism was the first religion I could find patience for after I became disillusioned with the patriarchy of the Abrahamic faiths. I'm still quick to judge them, but all religions are misused by people seeking power.

I was raised Southern Baptist (You know, the sect that schismed from the main Baptist congregation to enshrine slavery in their worship) Growing up, it seemed the more pious someone claimed to be, the less like Jesus they acted. It's a funny skit and how I imagine MAGA would justify their hate of woke-Jesus today. It also let me look at my own biases, which I appreciate. Demonization sucks.

All the fine and comfortable pious people of his own faith walking past someone in need as though they saw nothing. Yet a foreigner with no connection, not reason to help was kinder than his own.

It just gets written out again and again. Also why the whole Jesus myth bugs me. Instead of knocking up a 12yr old so God could ageplay for a few years doesn't make me believe. If God had incarnated as a woman that men listened to, that might have convinced me, but instead he pandered to the patriarchy and does in every faith.

Doing my first vtuber avatar for a friend. Long way to go yet but I'm feeling SO good about the edge flow in the low poly face. He subdivides so nice! Will be a real joy to texture and animate.

TIP: I've been finding it super worthwhile to create some throw away materials that are just basic colors and assign faces to them when I get areas with good flow. Makes it way easier to do the next part and spot poles.

Easy to tie that up in the courts until after the midterms, but the legal battle would get the right wing media material to stoke the stupids, so I kind hope the old corpse lingers on as that has the same outcome sans 'They're bloodthirsty monsters' rhetoric. Fascists lose a vote, dems gain nothing. Still a net win for democracy.
