Why am I so grumpy about AI? I’m legitimately upset that the technology I dreamed about all my life turned out to be so shitty.
From a conversation today with @hakamadare@mas.wrong.tools : if AI coding agents are so advanced, why have them write in high-level programming languages at all? Shouldn't they be outputting byte code?
My book listed on oreilly.com? Me 20 years ago would never have believed it.

Coming back to violin after a month away has been hard. I had a good return lesson on Monday but I’m still feeling really out of practice. I’m also recovering from a wrist injury, making my left hand work tricky unless I really pay attention to form.
Sounds like the perfect time to be inspired to record a violin part for this week's Disquiet Junto, right?

This week's Disquiet Junto submission is all about ringing bells and buzzing wires. A drone featuring bells, chimes, vintage radio sound effects, and electric guitar with ebow.
My friend K and I had rehearsal for our Drone Day live performance tonight! We have a 35 minute improv set that is coming along very nicely. I’ll post details as it gets closer but the plan is to live stream on twitch on Saturday the 30th at 7 US CT.

@ivory@tapbots.social Do you take bug reports by toot? Using the up-arrow to navigate to the top of the Notifications tab with unread notifications makes the "pull down to refresh" pane take over a big chunk of the window, even though there's no refresh triggered or happening.

My first peer-reviewed paper! "Queer(ing) Epistemology through Intersectional Data Science: Relational Knowledge and Affective Queries with TMI-WEB", co-authored with Dr Jess Parris Westbrook, was accepted by the Design Research Society!
The paper will be published in open access format later this year, and is being presented at the DRS conference in Edinburgh in June. You can register at https://drs2026.thedrs.org/home.
