Fediverse: what are good resources to send to people that just got Long Covid / ME / CFS ? They don't even know it is a thing that exists. I would prefer something that does centers "ME/CFS" as opposed to "Long Covid", because in the context of the person that needs it, they might get less support mentionning covid. I know I'm asking the people with no spoon to do some work, but I also know that you'll have the better things than google/ddg. Ziness, books, websites, videos, any medium. Boosts are very welcome :boost_ok: Hashtag salad: #LongCovid #MECFS #ME #CFS

Hey you, yes you 🫵.

Have you been wondering about using Linux?

Did the many questions like:
- Where to start?
- Where to ask for help?
- What is need?
stopped you in your track.

First you are not on your own, that's like the majority of people who thinks about Linux.

Second it is not easy, so it is valid to be apprehensive and anxious about this big unknown.

Now, if you want to give linux a go, I'm happy to help, for free, using a realitively jargon free english.

Just reply or DM me.

Accentuating one of the reason around the loss
@mactunag@gts.eunach.scot the whole reason they lost is because the effing french could not spread the gold into many ships. They clearly didn't plan for enough 9s on their pipeline of gold delivery through multiple ships.

@Catvalente@wandering.shop we have the ankou in Britanny. He is often seen with a scyth, and come to collect souls. The first person that dies in a year becomes the ankou I think. You know it is your time, when only you can hear the creaking of the wheels of his wagon.

@daniel@gultsch.social it'll be a lot easier to convince people to use something else than signal once "everyone" has signal. Right now "everyone" has whatsapp, and going from 1 to 2 is the hardest thing. No one I know only has telegram, they already have at least 2 of them. Once people have two of them, they'll be easier to get a 3rd one etc. You cannot get diversity out of inaction. Whatapp has not replace emails, Discord didn't replace emails or whatsapp or twitter, etc. Signal will not replace whatsapp, even if "everyone" had signal installed. No one went from emails to mastodon in one go. No one will go from whatsapp to decentralised signal in one go if it existed today (it does not).

@bearmine@gamepad.club foe each website you can have a separate ocnfig. Typically in /etc/nginx/sites-available/ So /etc/nginx/sites-available/toto.com, /etc/nginx/sites-available/mysite.net Then people symlink it in with ln: $ ln /etc/nginx/sites-available/toto.com /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/toto.com In the config, put the full path: server { listen 443 ssl http2; listen [::]:443 ssl http2; toto.com; ssl_certificate /etc/ssl/certs/toto.com.fullchain.crt; ssl_certificate_key /etc/ssl/private/toto.com.key; ... @cloudhop@equestria.social they published an API doc, great stuff. They did not publish the firmware. So they did not save the device from being bricked, they just open its access with some loss of functionality. The headlines claim they open source stuff, but in practical and real term that's not the case. Companies already know that they can open source stuff, that's a huge chunk of the code they use... And I mean this is in the best possible way, but perfection would be open source code, with open hardware, open SDKs and well documented API with code example, toolchains, emulators, etc. So what I don't understand is why people don't feel shortchanged and are not upset about that. This is a PR exercice feom Bose, why are you upset?

@thisismissem@hachyderm.io I'm going to try to say this with the most respect for you and your work. If it is not in mastodon mainline as a feature, it might as well not exist. The problem has never been ideas, protocols, or implementations, its always been adversarial relashionship from gargron and or the Mastodon GMBH leadership team. They clearly do not want to prioritise this feature and many other feaures that people asked for years (hello local only post). And the only people that can use this servers are: re-implementers, people that need a dedicated service to scale (and probbaly have multiple, high traffic instances), and hobbyist self hosters. All the people using masto.host/ 3rd parties won't be able to use it. Which I assume is the vast majority of the people wanting to have access to that feature in the first place. Unless Mastodon GMBH start to listen to their community (instance administrators), the complaining will continue I'm affraid. Again, trying my best here to convey that the work you did is needed and appreciated, and that my problems are with the people holding the power here.
