I just love this takedown too much not to post it... (...and i am lowkey giddy thinking how many mansplaining replies this could get...)

#FollowFriday today I will follow anyone who interacts with my toots. I hope to read more positive people, and I shouldn't complain they are hard to find if I don't follow more people, right? Heck I will even send Follow Requests even though most folks don't answer requests.

Friendly reminder, just because something is not a problem for you 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 does not mean that something is 𝗻𝗼𝘁 a real problem. #empathy

Anthropic if you're listening, all this negativity towards "AI" would cease immediately if I only received a gratuitity for the changing of my mind. It's a pittance to you, but it could very well be life changing for me. Think of the goodwill you could generate! I only need 185,001 dollars to invest in the opportunity of a lifetime! please think about it, Luigi bless!

There is a song by Sam Cooke that says, Then I go to my brother and I say, "Brother, help me please." But he winds up knocking me back down on my knees And every time I see leftists engaging in their petty purity testing instead of rallying to our common cause it makes me remember this song... I want to believe a change is gonna come, but I need my brother to help me up instead of knocking me down...

Anyway, I wish you to have a good day today, and every day.

Sometimes I could swear I would do my job for free if it werent for hunger and deadlines; and this burly body could stand a diet or two.

Wouldn't it be the perfect time for a hostile extraterrestrial alien invasion? like... can you imagine Trump doing a Pullman and rallying the troops to save us? NOT GONNA HAPPEN!

Monster Rancher+Stardew Valley+Jurassic Park But instead of a farm it's a laboratory to bring back any/all species that have gone extinct because of man-made causes. The lab has unknown patron that funds not only scientific research but tactical missions to "acquire" DNA, exfil scientists from hostile states, and even help zoos save sick animals.

It feels like the whole world is burning... And yet I hope someone hugs you today. I hope you find yourself smiling for whatever reason. I hope you allow yourself to be happy. And I hope, even though it may not help much, that another fascist dies.

@love@thistlenfern.org I feel work snacking is one of the reasons I'm so fat, but the everything is just too overwhelming without something sweet to sink my teeth into.

Cop shows and movies are copaganda. I don't know what my SO was watching. But the plot hinged on some type of insurance fraud for the central crime plot. It suddenly dawned on me how many movies/shows/plots have that insurance angle. And now I wonder if those aren't also propaganda as well (yes everything is propaganda bear with me) to have people normalize buying insurance as a good thing that good people do and are entitled to. To shift public opinion. 1/2

No matter how simple the message, there will be at least one man that misunderstands it.

I hope your Friday is amazing.

"I like to research new tech, and I'd like to stress that ["many"] like me feel like they have no choice when it comes to the usage of [Nuclear Weapons]. Many here are adamantly against [Nuclear Weapons]. And their ["tone"] doesn't feel constructive at all. I get where this comes from, [Nuclear Weapons] is an unethical technology. But that is no reason for people to get downright aggressive." Sometimes I do substitution exercises like this, to better identify the bs people spew...

With apologies to the original post/poster...

"New York just delivered $189 million in summer food assistance to nearly 1.6 million children this summer, covering the gap left when free school lunch disappears every June" Mamdani is dangerously close of convincing me he isn't a politician but a true public servant. Edit: Hold up. Credit to this goes to state, not city. So it's thanks to Kathy Hochul the state's governor.

@Nigel_Purchase@mstdn.social Do you know who is the artist on this?

How soon until they try selling some horrible "Watch With "AI" Edits" service that allows you to watch an old movie but swap/change the actors, the camera shots, and even the plot points, completely destroying the original artists vision for the sake of individualist slop.

honestly, i am not feeling that Neuromancer trailer.

That mosquito somehow Tom-Cruised some blood outta me. I'd admire them both if they weren't into a blood-sucking cult.

The absolute fastest way to get me to block you is to follow me while having a pinned post that asks for money. I have zero qualms about blocking anyone who does this. I will brook no argument about it. ___ Just for good measure, the 2nd fastest way for me to block you is for you to be a cryptobro.

When code failed, and I had to help peeps fix it, I used to say: "Before we fix the code let's try to understand the reasons why this code is like it is." Sometimes the reason was the original programmer didn't know better. Many times, too many, the reason was crunch time, or deadlines. More often the reason was the overlaying data had changed, or was invalid. Now... it is increasingly possible there is no reason... just vibes.

I don't know if this needs to be stated (once again!) but: Just because something is not a problem for YOU does not actually mean that the problem does not EXIST, and very probably the reason you do not even SEE the problem is privilege. ___ The first time I read that was on tumblr probably a decade or more ago. I miss tumblr a whole lot still. And it's probably the only social media I'd be willing to go back to.

So has anyone made githubupdetector.com yet?

Not to take _anything_ away from Ricky Martin or Bad Bunny, they deserve all their fans and recognition. And I am happy if you think they are the best ever. But to me... Well they are just two more grains of sand in the historic sea that is Puerto Rico's music scene. And I tell you this as someone who barely listens to our own local music. Anyway here's some salsa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuLHyRd21Iw #PuertoRico #Salsurria

Usually I follow anyone who interacts with my posts. But if you have Follow Requests turned on and want me to follow you please let me know. I often skip following people with Follow Request enabled because an overwhelming majority do not respond to requests. Yes, you have legitimate reasons to have Follow Request turned on and you don't have to justify them to me, or anyone. I just need a positive indication that you indeed want to be followed and will respond to Requests before I try.

I live vicariously through all y'all's painted minifigs.

I'm looking in my archives for a specific GIF of Sam Neil (the buttocks one) and came across this one, unrelated. Now I want tee shirt that says something like Legitimate Salvage Operations, or something only super fans would recognize.

🥵 🥵 🥵 (btw it looks normal outside, not even super sunny)

@miguelpergamon@kolektiva.social The thing is that "AI" is not culture, as it does not have intention. At best "AI" can only be the macnuggets of culture, blenderizing everything, adding some coloring and presenting it as something edible but unheallthy.

@miguelpergamon@kolektiva.social I am driving at the possible corruption of already made art into paler and paler copies of itself based on selfish desire.

@MaryAustinBooks@mstdn.social I want you to KNOW... Just reading the first sentence had me rolling, I knew where the post was going and it still was glorious.

Is Morphine the gender-bend version of Morpheus?

@venya@musicians.today Yes, this would be fantastic. It can be done locally on your computer, but it would be mich better to just bkock domains at the browser level.

"We wouldn't want billionaires to be afra..." #EATtheRICH :guillotine:

@StarkRG@myside-yourside.net @venya@musicians.today TIL thanks 🙏

Some dude summed up my problem with replies on fedi. They were saying people converse in different "modes". Some conversations, but not all, are practical. "Here is a problem. How can we solve it?" a.k.a. expertise Some conversations are emotional. "This is what I am feeling. Do you feel something similar?" a.k.a. empathy There's other modes. And my general problem with replies is that they assume a practical conversation when I am almost always starting an emotional one.

It's raining with gusto, the goddess smiles upon us once again. the horses will drink, the bushes will hue, the moss will be merry! Rain, rain! For the cows to get fat, for the rivers to gorge! May the rain fall even on my enemies for none are deserving of drought's despair! #OnlyHalfJoking

What is your favorite Godot Engine plugin that is not made by yourself? I am trying to come to terms with Phantom Camera because it seems powerful and useful. But I keep making my own silly Camera3D nodes with custom controls. Phantom also has a shaker component but I was already using this Shaker plugin which I might try to phase out. Sometimes less is more, as they say. #GodotEngine

@MaryAustinBooks@mstdn.social Thanks! I'm being unnecessarily flowery. Though drought is still a concern in parts of the island I am not currently under water rationing. That being said, until no one is being rationed anymore more rain is welcome.
