@nixCraft VeraCrypt is in particular not ideal, since people use that to encrypt their disk. If this doesn't get resolved ASAP, people can't even boot anymore after June.
It seems that security tools are targeted here. This is the worse thing you can do to people. Microsoft is not much better than China here.

@jerry@infosec.exchange @DaveMWilburn@infosec.exchange @k3ym0@infosec.exchange I need to "vibe" code my own solution using Golang that builds as a plugin directly into Nginx/angie. Simular to my https://github.com/melroy89/angie_telegraf_plugin project.
Since I also don't like Anubis. And a plugin will natively solve it directly on the load balancer level. Without the need of running additional software or processes.

@iwritelike markdown is used a ton today. But especially in projects with a readme indeed. But also Claude code for example allows you to leverage markdown files (agents.md etc).
It's just a simple way to document stuff. Or even in websites like Hugo.
But yes it makes sense that those people can also code.

@wjmaggos@liberal.city ah Mastodon can best be explained as software for the fediverse. It's a software platform for connecting to the fediverse.
Alternatives like Mbin, Lemmy or piefed exists as well. Which are also software for the fediverse.

@zm@mementomori.social @Mastodon@mastodon.social agreed. As a creator of Mbin myself, it's pretty misleading.

@nextcloud@mastodon.xyz no offense. But we got a lot of regression with the nextcloud desktop client v33: https://github.com/nextcloud/desktop/issues/9729#issuecomment-4179255485

@GossiTheDog@cyberplace.social I checked the Mongo docker images. They didn't yet update any docker tags with the patched versions.
So actually while there is a patch, the community official "Mongo" docker image has no fixes yet...

@baltakatei @nixCraft at this point I would consider really move to Linux. Which I'm using since 2013 (before 2013 I was still dual booting).
And use wine.

@benjamineskola@hachyderm.io @ramsey@phpc.social true. What I notice is that LLMs introduces a lot of duplicated code. Making the mental model harder and harder to understand, in case an actual human needs to read the code.
So a good example might be to define one static constant value and reuse that value across the file. Ai will duplicate that constant for each method or worse, create magic values (aka without any variable definition).
So Ai loves generating the same code.

@timixretroplays@digipres.club OK yes I do make a copy (rsync) once a day. So my instance is fully at home running in my homelab.
And I have a small bananapi running (only ssh, only keys login no password) at another place where I store my backup. So I do have a remote backup in case of an emergency. This backup "server" I just at a place not too far away and just running in a closet hah. Since you're right and you need to think about 3-2-1 backup rule.

@raymaccarthy @nixCraft no idea, I do know that Huawei installs HarmonyOS Next on their pc and laptops instead of windows (like their Matebook Pro).
But honestly I think Harmony is only meant for China. And Microsoft Windows will only be used by the west (and soon only America).
