Phewww... After spending 12 hours reading up on mail servers and setting everything up—from TLS and Caddy to SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and the reverse DNS entry—it feels really good to be able to receive and send emails with lots of PASS entries and a verified DKIM signature in the mail header!

Finally, I have my own mail server. I've only been putting it off for a few years hehe :blobcatgiggle:

Another day, another slop replacement. Just switched from i3wm to dwm. Couldn't find anything slop related in their repository.

And I love the simplicity and the compile-your-own wm mentality. Any change to the style is just a change in a header file, followed by a re-compilation. Pretty cool so far :blobcatcoffee:

I had a crazy dream in which PHP 9 had been released, so I changed my PHP classes to align in memory and optimised the hell out of my code. Then I woke up and realised that PHP 9 doesn't exist and PHP is still heap-only

🥲 so sad...

I found a nice JS snipped on greasyfork that kills JS by setting `document.body.innerHTML` to `document.body.innerHTML`. Way easier then `for(;;);`.

Here is my bookmark:
`javascript:(function() {document.body.innerHTML = document.body.innerHTML;})()`

@tomekw I suppose it depends. I switched from neovim to vim 9 and ditched the PHP intelephense LSP because it's a slow and proprietary node js application. Since last year, I have exclusively used universal ctags in vim, and I'm as productive as before. Everything is also much faster without the calls to the LSP. For Go, I use vim-go (if I remember correctly). The plugin communicates with 'go pls' in the background when needed. So, to answer your question, it's quite useful for me.

@thefoggiest@indieweb.social yeah I am definitely aware of that. I will try to setup a monitoring for a regular check of my DNS records, to ensure the signatures stay valid. As fare as I understand it, these valid records play a big roll in the spam evaluation. Simple to avoid ever landing on a blacklist. But I guess you can't control what the big players are doing. Eventually my domain trust is pretty low, I'm also aware of that. However, I don't want to let these organisations push me around any further than this. Email belongs to us, not them. It's probably wishful thinking, but I hope that, as Europe becomes more digitally independent, email will become a more pleasant topic again :blobcatcoffee:

@maklem@social.leuchtstark.dev Thank you very much :ablobcatheartsqueeze:! I have the same concerns of course, which is why I put it off for so long. But today, I care less about them than ever before. I have a fresh, more positive view of digital independence, and I don't care if some emails from big tech companies are rejected anyway. Let's see how far I get with my experiment! Hehe :blobcatgiggle:

@underwood@fosstodon.org same. You've still got to set up DKIM, the TLS handling on the host and all the DNS entries, but it's actually pretty straightforward compared to doing all this manually.

What do you think about the Servo browser project as an additional alternative to Chrome, alongside Firefox and its forks?

Are there any controversies surrounding it, like with Fascistbird or Brave, aka the hateful browser?

How do you get FIDO2 working on Ironfox on an of-the-shelf android (yeah I know... this is the bigger problem)? I can't use `s1m.hwfido2provider` because my device seems to be outdated. And I'm to stupid to setup microG. Any other options?

@mohammedDavid@mastodon.social GoToSocial is like Mastodon part of the Fediverse. It implements ActivePub. So it's a great, private alternative to Mastodon without LLM generated code.

This is how I understand it. But I'll set it up, just for me, and then I can see if it's for me :blobcatcoffee:

@thefoggiest@indieweb.social Actually, that's exactly what I'm doing. I'm using DMS (docker-mailserver) here. Of course, it's not proprietary like Google's and Microsoft's offerings — it's open source — but ultimately, it's an off-the-shelf image that I pull. Of course, I see your point. But IMHO, it's better to go this route than to get stuck with Big Tech. DMS is not a one-click solution. You need to familiarise yourself with it, generate the correct certificates and set the DNS records.

@ramsey@phpc.social ok then we have the same problem :blobcat_thisisfine:. I told my team leader that I don't mind him calling me at 23:55 to fix production issues 🔥. However, since we started accepting AI code, I have told him that he can call Claude when there is a problem with production. The same applies to reviews. We are currently discussing the introduction of transparent AI disclosure. Has AI been used? What was it used for? In addition, we have considered removing reviews completely. This would make developers 100% responsible for the code they merge, and it would also prevent me from approving AI code. If you merge that, you alone are responsible for it. As a final rule, the reviewer is always right. There is no discussion.

@acallegaro@mas.to both allow LLM code contributions and are being actively developed with LLM generated code.

I stopped caring about the why's.
