Wow, I’m amazed by @forgejo@floss.social !
Set it up over the weekend and migrated a couple of repositories over.
Amazingly simple to set up thanks to docker compose and good documentation!
Set up a runner as well, which was just as straightforward.
Everything just works.
Well done guys and girls!
So, my kid did a thing:
Built a shell script to deploy his #PHP #Laravel stuff on his VMs.
He put a lot of time and effort into this, and I’m incredibly proud of what he has accomplished.
He has released his first beta version today, and as proud dad I must do my thing to spread the news:
https://github.com/nathanael-thms/php-deploykit/
This is almost entirely self taught, with only extremely minimal input from myself 💪
What amazing magic is this?! 🤯
I went to the local park today and it was super busy because of a Nepali Festival (Biska Jatra?)
Full of colour, amazing outfits, people having a great time.
It reminded me of why I love this place: the multiculturalism. When I grew up in Germany everyone was so very … German. First time I came to London I was blown away by the variety of people, skin colours, fashion choices, foods, cultures. And I still love it. One of the great things about my Church is its hugely diverse background. People from every continent on earth (well, except Antarctica - sorry, no penguins …) How amazing to all be together under one roof!
Yes, multiculturalism can be challenging. Things from other cultures can challenge what we’ve always taken for granted. They can even make us uncomfortable. But they also make us richer. Broaden our horizon.
It was an opportunity as well to look up Nepal on the globe with the kids, talk about where it is, its culture and history (as we could gather from Wikipedia - I knew very little about it) which was just so much fun!
That moment when you want to show off in the family chat with a selfie in front of a 1,000 year old building - but then realise that that really isn’t all that impressive to the in laws in Egypt 🙈😂
See, that’s why I never update my dependencies
Open source isn't a tip jar – it's time to charge for access - The Register https://go.theregister.com/feed/www.theregister.com/2026/03/25/open_source_bill_opinion/
My status page for services I run for myself and my family now has 18 entries. And then there are 4 further monitors on my Uptime Kuma instance that I'm not publicising for different reasons.
I seem to have become to addicted to self hosting…
@neil@mastodon.neilzone.co.uk Oh, I don't like this at all. The old design was definitely superior there in my opinion.
Question to the wordpress community: What's the best way to store sessions in redis?
Is it just by setting session.save_handler in the php.ini, or are the other options / pitfalls?
LOL, the family dog is dead scared of the toddler’s new rocking deer. Doesn't it look scary?
My home feed is so full of spam lately it really isn’t fun anymore.
Posts like these from random accounts from random instances. Sometimes dozens at a time.
I’m not really sure what to do about it. I feel reporting is gonna be a waste of time, and muting/blocking at my end is too, as each user only sends a single root.
Frustrating…
The new feature is now available to Claude Pro and Max subscribers using MacOS in what Anthropic calls a “research preview.” That means the system “won’t always work perfectly” and will sometimes require a “second try” for complex tasks, Anthropic warns. Completing tasks via “computer use” also “takes much longer and is more error-prone” than performing the same task via Connectors, the company writes.

My VET currently charges £15 for a prescription. Any bets on them raising their prices to £21?
@neil@mastodon.neilzone.co.uk Actually, looking at the code, I think you do need to opt into this using EXPERIMENTAL_FEATURES=profile_redesign in the .env.production. But I'm not sure, as I also thought I read a while ago that they wanted to move away from feature flags, but can't find any reference elsewhere.
FWIW, this is in the glitch flavour, so it's gonna be a setting somewhere - either feature flag or config somehwere else ...
I really cannot wrap my head around people who write blog posts on x.
Not tweets-that-should've-been-blog-posts. Actual blog posts…
What is this? https://github.com/php-debugger/php-debugger
Just been promoted by Laravel News and the repo is really not clear on whether this is something built by (or at least with the blessing of) @derickr@phpc.social or not.
It lists Derick under the ‘Sponsor this project' section, but something feels off.
