Someone in IRC asked when dwm would be rewritten in a memory-safe language. I think we're only a few decades away: "First rewrite Xlib, Xft, and all the Linux kernel dependencies." :) #suckless #dwm #linux

• Why tf is there no true Wayland dwm?
• Librewolf is the Firefox Firefox should have been.
• Adding yourself to the pipewire group at 06:31 AM is totally acceptable.

As a non-dev I really enjoy the strictness of code. And the strictness of reading error-messages. Miss a comma or a curly bracket and you're reminded of your shortcomings. VoidLinux to the rescue. Obviously that LUKS, dracut and bin kernel was a glorious PITA on Gentoo. But..... VoidLinux has everything I want, a tutorial that actually worked was found quickly and now dwm 6.8, st and dmenu all compiled gloriously. Let the patching begin. Remember, this time I wanted to start from zero, Unfortunately I have to work tomorrow 🤣 so this will have to wait to later in the week. But this feels very appropriate for the ThinkPad.
