Hey @PHPCSFixer@phpc.social - Tokens::updateSizeToZero() is not resetting $foundTokensKinds array. The values will double for any Fixers that use code rewrite/re-tokenize feature (like align option in binary_operator_spaces).
A one line fix - much easier than learning all your issue/PR ceremonies, and I don't care that much

Have you ever had someone review your pull request, make changes without telling you, and just merge it in? In this week's podcast, Aaron and I discuss whether the traditional code review workflow still makes sense when AI tooling lets us move faster than ever. #php #laravel https://masteringlaravel.io/daily/2026-09-28-laravel-podcast-is-the-traditional-code-review-workflow-holding-you-back

Packagist turns 15 🎉
On September 27, 2011, monolog/monolog became package ID 1. Today Packagist lists more than 469,000 packages, and Composer has installed packages from it more than 200 billion times.
Our anniversary post covers how it all started, 15 years of milestones, the growth we've seen in 2026, and what comes next for supply chain security and funding.

I started writing @pixelfed@mastodon.social in 2018, long before LLMs.
Using static analysis tools like PHPstan are good enough to help improve Pixelfed, without having to resort to AI.

Most devs I know are in the #PHP world – but I have a lead for a python & flutter dev with a good eye for security and (odd as it may sound) astrology!
Please DM me if you can do this, or can recommend someone! #GetFediHired
Laravel lets you monitor your configuration. But your dependencies?
You check a package once, install it, then never look again. Packages go stale quietly.

83,000 Laravel packages on Packagist. Only 19,000 are healthy or medium. The rest are old, stale, or abandoned.
AI can find you a package in seconds. What it cannot do is tell you whether it is still alive.

🚀 leapt/core-bundle v6.4.0 is out!
What's new:
✅ Support for google/recaptcha 2.x, alongside 1.x, with no code change needed on your side
🐛 The reCAPTCHA v3 validator no longer throws a TypeError when no private key is configured, even with reCAPTCHA disabled. Both reCAPTCHA validators now throw an explicit LogicException when reCAPTCHA is enabled without a key.

PHP's next time class marks a moment and leaves telling the time to a clock, and there's a request on the table for the map of the rest of the new API. The regex RFC's callback question is settled against wrapping, with a compiled-pattern alternative posted alongside it. A closure-as-entry-point idea lasted a day, the Argon2 default ran into OpenSSL, and 8.6 is frozen.

As of today, PHPUnit 8.5, 9.6, 10.5, 11.5, 12.5, 13.3, and the main branch are also tested with PHP 8.7, which will be released in Q4 2027.

Is there a pattern/name for a concept of a "lens" or "specification" pre-applied to a persistence repository?
Thinking, roughly:
interface SuperSecretStuffRepository {
function find(SomeId): VeryImportant;
}
interface FilterForUser {
function apply(User, SuperSecretStuffRepository): SuperSecretStuffRepository;
}
It certainly is some sort of decorator.
Pseudo-code is #php

Installing the full AWS SDK for #PHP just to perform a few S3 operations adds quite a lot of unnecessary weight.
In serverless deployments and CI pipelines, that means more to package, upload, unpack and process, and less room within platform limits.
The AWS SDK includes a Composer hook that removes services your application doesn't use.
