I ain't nice.
DO NOT follow-back because you think it's the polite thing to do. If you're polite, you don't say the things I say, do the things I do, think the way I think. I ain't a popularity-whore. Rather, I may block new followers whose timelines indicate they're probably really nice folk.

Absolute sluts. They'll let pretty much ANY document or image format convert.
It is your prerogative to decide whether that goes in the PRO or CON column.

Them (a person I called to do business with them): "Is this a good number to reach you at?"
Me: (Explains my phone will not ring, since they're not in my Contacts. They can leave a VM, & then TXT me, which WILL ding.)
Them: "OMG, I WISH I could do that. But I can't, obviously."
This exact exchange happens very often. It's a joy every time.

Very quick-n-dirty (20 min) PNG export, no cleanup/perfecting done. This app makes SVG (vector graphic) files natively, which don’t get “jaggy” when printed large.
Never do coloring book stuff myself (not since the early ‘70s), so I dunno how much detail is desired in the line work. Lemme know if this is at all in the ballpark. No offense will be taken if the answer is, “No, not like that.” LOL
But if this is approaching useful, I can put real time into tidying.

Pushing back on "perfectly grammatical"... as I have doubts on that.
I see a LOT of LLM-based autocorrect attempts that are grammatically wrong, because they don't understand the writer's intent, and assume that the most-typical wording must be the most-correct wording. And that's not always true.
Which is just another reason human proofreaders are preferable.

Hence the T-shirt in my profile pic.
Society needs more of that.

This GIF makes me turgid.
It goes well with a T-shirt I wear as oft as possible when going to a restaurant with my long-suffering wife. It's ketchup red, & in the rough shape of the Heinz label, it says "I Put Ketchup On My Ketchup".
She calls me "Condiment Boy".

This, 100%.
What impresses me so far, here, is a higher level of quality engagement.
And poop jokes.

The electoral system here was always rigged in favor of rich (white) land-owners, & the checks & balances are only allowed to APPEAR to work so long as they don’t irritate the rich too much.

My favorite job ever: driving for Jefferson Lines - scheduled motorcoach service.
Getting mostly poor people where they needed to go. Actually helping people.
What job was I doing when we went almost bankrupt? Yup. Same job.

At least one of those web-based tax prep services you’d recognize the name of DOES have the option of talking one-on-one with a tax professional (video conference, like zoom calls). Maybe that’s a reasonable compromise?

Or, they’re saving people the effort of looking for their website. “Contact us here, or call the phone number, to get more info.”
I’m sure they’d been asked a thousand times, “What’s your website?”, and I bet it not only gets old, but is unnecessary friction.

Partway through the song, the guy in front of us snapped his head around & snarled, “Our God is not a God of CONFUSION!”
Now I’m hoping he’s in hell, forced to watch this YouTube video for eternity. (An insincere overstatement for humor.)

This, 100%. If only the Christian Right were actually both truly Christian (they’re not) and right (nope, they’re so wrong).

Ignorance is not the ignorant person’s fault. It just is what it is.
Being an asshole about it is a choice.
If a picture is worth 1000 words, a vid is worth 10k. They can manage a YT channel for free from a phone. There aren’t good ways to manage a website for free from a phone. It seems a wise business & marketing approach.
Also quaint, like building log cabins, which I think is an intentional spin.

I have a tendency to resist boosting anything that asks for a boost (a weird principle, I know).
But I feel this in my soul.
Tangentially, I was impressed by this YT short by a company that makes log cabins, & they boldly - proudly - say “We don’t have a website.”

I believe you’re spot-on, this whole thread.
A VC firm provided a (larger than us) company the funds to buy us, & now has a controlling interest in the new whole. We’re being forced to use AI to code. I suspect the VC also has AI investment, the way they ignore arguments about protecting our IP.
It’s gut-wrenching at times, the short-sightedness.
But your story jibes 100%.

Am I alone in hoping there’s a secret cabal of senior developers playing a long con on billionaire tech oligarchs? They can switch it all to #RobinHoodMode at any moment.

imaging system that does what #Photoshop calls “Find Edges” and “Unsharp Mask” on a file that is a higher bit-depth than the monitor can display. Tech like that has been very good since the ‘90s. But the Dental X-ray company just could not stand to feel left off of the big #AI bandwagon.
And I get it; everybody’s just trying to grab a bigger chunk of #MarketShare for their stake-holders.
The problem is that this wankery provides thousands of seemingly successful examples (…cont’d…)

of practical, accurate, useful AI, causing the other clueless folks to believe in AI much more than they really should.
SO much of this tsunami of AI “success” is built on flat out lies. And even if the #VultureCapital firms know it’s lies, they don’t fucking care. Even if they know for certain the bubble will burst, they don’t fucking care. They only care about correctly timing their exit. Destructive, greedy fucks.
