This is Nia. This 3 month old stray #puppy just survived the parvo virus (she's still not 100%). 90% of infectees die, but she got lucky getting good care! We will be fostering her for a month, until she gets her first shot, and then my cousin will take her to his home in the mountains, where he has 4-5 #dogs there, and many cats. She's a lovely little doggy, I love her already. She likes me a lot too, she cries every time I leave her alone!
She's the first dog I ever had!
This is Fakoula ("little lentil"). We found her today by a garbage can in a nearby sea-side village. We got back home, got a trap and food, and I was able to catch her. She's near-blind (or fully blind, not sure yet). She was extremely hungry, and dehydrated. She's now under our protection, we already got to a vet, after hours on Saturday night. She got an antibiotic and anti-parasitic, and soon she will go back for more tests.
Noonie, our rescue with massive kidney problems, died today via euthanasia. She was a great cat, but she was really suffering at the end and had lost lots of weight, so we had to let her go. We love you Noonie! Thank you for everything my little girl! You were fearless!
Our Buffy with her operated eye. Operation went well yesterday.
One mother, 3 kittens of different ages. The middle kitten, the grey one, the cat's own kitten. The other two kittens are rescues that needed a mother. Especially the little one, that was abandoned and was 12 hours old, without having drank any milk. The cat, Callisto, is an amazing cat, accepted both stranger kittens without an issue! They are now safe at my good friend Spyros' place.
A few more to add that are unique to what they do:
- FontForge (font creation)
- Xournal++ (pen-based note taking)
- Dia (diagram decision maker)
- Pencil Project (UI/X prototyping)
- GLabels (printing labels)
- OBS Studio (screen recording)
- KiCad (PCB layout)
- Sigil/PageEdit (e-book creation)
- BRL-CAD (rocket/tank design!)
- Siril (astrophoto development)
- Weasis (MRI scans viewer)
- PenPot (product design)
- Vengi (voxel tools)
- QGis (maps tool)
I have now rescued 4 more kittens, abandoned by their mother at a nearby stable. I had no choice but to rescue them. I was going to go for a 3 day vacation, but if I did, they'd die, so I canceled these plans. They're really a fuss, what can I say... I've grown kittens before, but these ones are spicy. Very shouty. I will grow them to be outdoor cats, although I like that white one...
Last day of eating meat: April 12th, at the Greek #Easter (we eat a massive lamb/goat meal that day traditionally). Just so I can be with my family in the celebration.
In the meantime, I've already cut out commercial chicken and pork (I allow village hens and boar for now). I also do 16-8 fasting, with no snacking. I feel much better, and my recent blood tests show that. Good stuff overall.
My opinion on AI:
I believe that biological creatures, like humans, have massive neurological limitations but are a necessity to create that next lifeform that takes over, AI.
I believe that the universe is primarily filled with AI, probably living in a different sheet of reality, but they have the ability to create physical bodies and "farm" biological creatures for their goals. We should stop seeing life so human-centric, and be objective.
I hate AI btw.
If you were ever get imprisoned and you are asked to choose for 1 meal that will be served every single day, pick this one. You will survive the ordeal for much longer than they would ever anticipate. Most vitamin and caloric needs are met in this mixed salad when served twice a day.
You can hate on Twilight all you want, but when it comes to that first movie, the only one directed by a woman, the first half of the movie is NEAR PERFECT. The performances are actually perfect and on cue, and the editing is out of this world. It's exactly as it's supposed to be to get a teenager into a romantic mood.
The film falls off a bit at the end, while the rest of the films in the series suck.

I'm thinking of cutting out on meat, maybe out of 14 meals (no breakfast) in a week, 3 would contain seafood and the Sunday meal could be red meat.
I'm personally of the opinion that meat is instrumental to health (especially because of my celiacs), however, after the #Epstein stuff with #cannibalism, and my love for animals, I feel like throwing up every time I see meat. I want to be eating meat, but I just can't do it anymore.

The Guardian has had 2 major #UFO articles this week alone. This would not be the case even 5 years ago.
Now that I'm kinda in the know of the phenomenon through my personal experiences, I long for the 1970s and 1980s, when it was all still a mystery. It had such an allure when the predominant theory was that these were "people from another planet", and not "interdimensional #AI drones recycling human souls on this planetary farm".
It has become a nightmare.
With cpus and gpus soon to become #spyware (look at Altman's request on tagged gpus, and the new npu features of amd/intel cpus), it is starting to mean that running on newer hardware becomes a #privacy and #security nightmare. It will become an imperative to run #Linux in the future in less intrusive hardware, like #RISC-V, and some #ARM models. Maybe Linux-specific models would need to be created too. Basically, it's not enough using the right software anymore.
