RSS, ATOM, and JSON feeds may be getting a much-needed update to the spec with the addition of Byline, which provides structured identity (AKA: author details) for syndication feeds.
The proposal was created by @tg@indieweb.social, maker of the popular Current RSS reader.
When I interviewed @Gargron@mastodon.social he said that education was key to @Mastodon@mastodon.social and the fediverse growing. That, along with the algorithm-free approach of most ActivityPub-supporting platforms, inspired me to create https://algo.free
It covers the benefits of going algo-free, provides ActivityPub-powered alternatives to centralized, algo-driven platforms, and offers tips for getting started.
My feed is filled with amazing photographs and I love it! Thank you fediverse friends. ♥️
The North End of Boston today.
I did a food tour in the North End of Boston today, and the Italian sandwiches were the best I've ever had. They were so good, I took two!
This is video of Jacob Collier shooting a heart at my daughter while receiving her diploma from Berklee College of Music today. It was icing on the cake for this special occasion.
Collier was there to receive an honorary doctorate, and he performed last night, and spoke at the commencement ceremony today.
Just throwing this out there for those who want a de-Googled non-Gemini’d version of Chrome right now. Helium is still my default browser for desktop.
I like to tell myself I’m doing my best, but I don’t think I am, and I’m fine with that. Sometimes I do my best, but I have to be excited about it.
Wow! This is very cool. NASA's 3D Artemis tracker.
Didn't even realize that we made it to April 2nd, since every day feels like Fool's Day since Jan 20, 2025.
Given how our current timeline has been going, I will not be surprised if we encounter an alien armada hiding on the dark side of the moon.
Metric just released a new album today, and it's one of their best that I've heard. I love how they've stayed relevant and kept getting better over all these years.
I'm currently on a plane, and it's a slow connection, but the Unifi Travel Router is a champ for connecting all my devices and VPNing into my home LAN.
Here's my full review of it: https://coywolf.com/reviews/products/the-unifi-travel-router-makes-securely-connecting-to-your-home-network-while-away-a-breeze/
I hate this design by Apple. They use a double X for Safari, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve typed a long query and then clicked the large X to the far right assuming it’s the “Go” (search) button, which, of course, resets my search.
Edit: I don’t “see” the X. My eyes are focused on typing and my brain expects that button to the far right to be the Go button, but my thumb is faster than my eyes. And then it’s too late and I have to start over.
Pretty wild thinking about how if you get the math wrong or there's a malfunction in the flight path when attempting to do a slingshot around the moon, you could be swung out into space forever.
I'm not worried about that happening. It's more the thought of how truly amazing the astrophysics and engineering that go into this are.
There’s nothing quite like the suspense of a precarious airplane toilet seat that won’t stay up and slowly falls down as you try to finish your business while standing in the tiniest of closets.
Here's a rare article in the news that accurately represents the current state of SEO.

Love this title:
"Everyone Wants Servers And Nobody Wants Servers"
and @laurenshof@indieweb.social's commentary.
"The fediverse’s current resilience was produced by people, who in a specific moments in time decided to run servers."

"Copy heart. Copy bracelet." ♥️
I'm in! I can't wait to play and test this more tonight after work. Pretty amazing so far. This is the missing photos app for Mac.
This is a big deal to those that were still using Gauges for their real-time analytics, which apparently was a lot of people.
It's not just an upgrade feature-wise for them, it's also having everyone switch to privacy-first analytics that are GDPR (and everything else) ready out of the box.
And personally, as a long-time user of Fathom, I'm looking forward to getting Gauges' AirTraffic Live feature added, which they said they would port over and looks very cool.
