I really ought to have a bio, but I never know what to write. You can probably get a feel for who I am by just reading a few of my toots TBH.

@mcnado Or, for that matter, the fact Trump's regime have cut the funding for medical interventions preventing natal deaths (after classing it as low priority), thereby ensuring many full-term children die during birth anyway? So much for them being even "pro-life for the unborn"...

@mcnees@mastodon.social You probably already know about the Fediverse's own MTV, The Indie Beat TV (https://tv.theindiebeat.fm/) but I'll mention it here for the other commentors who possibly don't...

@7sleepersmusic@mastodon.social Same, I hang out there and welcome newbies. That said, it's become a bit of a hellhole recently, but the solution there is not destroying discoverability but not expanding a single server to a size where moderation is so difficult it's probably nearly impossible? @staff@mastodon.social

@dillo For old browsers using the Wayback Machine, there's http://wayback-classic.net/ (which is also faster for modern browsers, so I use it regardless), but there's nothing for the archive as a whole, sadly... @brewsterkahle

Based on the #BBCNews interview, it looks like Trump now has his eyes on stealing our North Sea oil as well as his existing greed for that of Iran and Venezuela... #UKPol #USPol

@urlyman@mastodon.social The petition calls for a referendum; last time we had one of those it was coopted by foreign powers working with the far right to create the worst possible result. I'm not sure I trust that not to happen again...

@yourautisticlife@mast.yourautisticlife.com Weirdly, the BBC here have covered the US marches today but completely ignored the Unity march in London! I guess being an international news story means they can feel less culpable to those who oppose it?

Replying to
@dosnostalgic@mastodon.social The accompanying article ( https://thebrokenpipe.com/dos/paterson_listings/ ) talks about a #bug in the printed out code caused by a carry introduced into a rotation by an ROL CX instruction, but ROL explicitly ignores the carry, doesn't it? The author seems to be assuming it's the same as RCL CX? There must have been a different reason for Paterson reverting the code to the previous iteration because that one doesn't make sense!

@Kiloku@burnthis.town I prefer the Markdown approach to how Apple just turned their text editor into a straight Word Processor without an easy way to do unformatted text anymore. Still, Microsoft shouldn't be feature-cramming Notepad of all programs! At least the new Microsoft "Edit" is an OK text editor... @solonovamax@tech.lgbt

@Daojoan A man so comically evil, he decided the best person to run his UK operations was the grandson of Oswald Moseley (the founder of the British Union of Fascists and wartime Hitler fanboy who, postwar, didn't even learn his lesson then and went into the National Front and lobbied government for deportation of nonwhite citizens). Now, to be fair, family doesn't make a person, but it does give background and you can be sure that's what attracted Thiel to him...
