@admin@burnout.cafe For the Mastodon team, giving people powerful tools to control what they see and how they’re seen is a big part of our software design ethos. That being said, we will NEVER moderate based on someone’s sexual orientation.

Recommended follows, trending, and searching for hashtags all provide a far better discovery experience for newcomers, and we intend to improve discovery features more in 2026.
Note that we do have the ability to restore live feed access to individual users, and will consider this on a case-by-case basis. We will proactively reach out to trusted flaggers to offer this in advance.

@mcnewton@mastodon.online Quite likely. This setting was included in the last major release, but some third-party client apps may not have added support for checking if these timelines are disabled yet.

@aral@mastodon.ar.al @davidculley@infosec.exchange @liaizon@social.wake.st Our staff operate both instances, in accordance with the same policies.
Follower migration can take some time as it requires the cooperation of the various servers involved, though you may lose followers if the destination server has blocked some servers you have followers on, or is blocked by some servers you have followers on.

@ThomasKdot@mastodon.social When we refer to trusted flaggers here, we are actually referring to Mastodon users who file a lot of high quality reports. They're ordinary users who contribute a lot of effort to making the network nicer for everyone else!

Plus, learn how to use one of our newest features, Collections, and help people across the #fediverse find new accounts to follow: https://help.joinmastodon.org/article/19-creating-a-collection

@sam@break3.social We can grant access to the live feeds for anyone who wants it.
https://www.fediscovery.org/ is particularly intended to help ensure small instances will be able to find content without having to bear the load of consuming a full relay with larger servers.

@jaz@toot.wales The feature included in Mastodon 4.5 is based on a user's roles, so a user cannot re-enable themselves. We are going to be setting the role on request.
