https://galley.house might be the best domain I've ever bought. It's just so short and easy to remember. It also works as https://the.incident.at.galley.house but the rest of the team told me that was a bad URL. (our awesome website was designed by https://petiterevolte.com/en)

The Incident at Galley House

The Incident at Galley House

On Sunday the 7th of March, 1936, a group of locals made their way up the long, muddy track to Galley House. As far as any of them knew, the house had stood empty for decades. Inside, they discovered the bloody aftermath of something horrific. The authorities were summoned, and the crime scene was eventually cleared away. But nobody ever figured out what happened that dreadful night. It seemed likely that no one ever would. Now, many years later, you have access to a peculiar machine — one that

Time and time again we relearn the lesson that private, for profit entities like Reddit and Twitter will always screw over their communities without a second thought.

Mastodon or Discourse might be more expensive or technical to run the way your community would like, but they can never pull the rug out from underneath you.

People will say game dev is their dream job but they don’t know the job involves resizing logos all morning into a dozen different sizes per locale

Strong recommend: The Race for Space album by Public Service Broadcasting. It's a mixture of electronic music and historical clips from the space race. It's great to pump you up and I found it even more impactful given Artemis II. Start with "Go!"

I took my senior chihuahua to get all his frail teeth removed and I feel so bad seeing him in pain. I know it’s for the best but the lil guy is just not feeling well.

I know playtests are meant to unearth bugs, but I cringe so hard every time something I messed up gets in a player's way.

I got a new M5 MAX laptop and have been using it as my daily driver for a few weeks. It's really great! I found Windows was getting clunky and annoying to use. I know people don't love the latest MacOS but it feels nice and refreshing to me compared to Windows 11.

My friends at jamwitch are on a roll! They made a Roottrees-like language deduction game during a jam in just 72 hours, and it's super fun. I played through it in one sitting: https://jamwitch.itch.io/trevosa

I've had quite a few reports from users who have very white screens in Roottrees on newer Nvidia drivers. I have a 5090 and it works fine. It only happens in Vulkan and not in OpenGL. The github issues for godot don't seem to have anyone else reporting it. Anyone have a lead? #GodotEngine #Godot

Is it normal for #Godot games on Metal to beachball if the shader cache is empty for 60-90s? My game is currently doing it even on the most powerful macs and I'm curious if I've done something wrong. see: https://github.com/godotengine/godot/issues/106757#issuecomment-4210263990

Wax Heads interviewed Jeremy about game design, writing, and 80s music. Roottrees will also be in a bundle with them on May 5th when their game comes out. https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2754380/view/498352656701457223

Replying to
@phenidone@mstdn.social could they not have done a different pricing tier for LLM scrapers rather than user mobile apps? I’m pretty sure they just want their users to switch over to their app because of the imminent IPO.

Replying to
@botolo86@mstdn.social @paavi@mastodon.social @Gargron@mastodon.social it can easily be forked as has been done with countless open source projects before. Also you can build another client on the ActivityPub open standard. That’s two giant paths to recourse that private sites do not offer.

@botolo86@mstdn.social @Gargron@mastodon.social you can’t take back source that’s already been released. We’d fork. It’s been done before in countless pieces of software.

@Aeder@stereophonic.space on the other hand, Discord content is ethereal and disappears quickly. There’s not much keeping users from switching. Reddit and Twitter have decades of user submitted content and history. Much harder to leave behind.

Replying to
@dheadshot@mastodon.social if that’s a fully featured browser maybe you could figure out what’s broken and submit a bug report? Otherwise Discourse offers an API and a new client could be made for that OS.

@eshwarnag@mastodon.social being able to block is a good thing, actually. Every good community needs that. Even if you were defederated for something you could continue to federate with like minded people. On Reddit or Twitter you’re done.
