I decided to take a break, because coding became a competition with myself, releasing quickly to satisfy people using #Fedilab and my other projects.
But that is the trap. I gave a lot, hoping people would keep enjoying my projects.
I was looking at it the wrong way. People here are not waiting for results. Building fast and creating things before even suggesting them is not how it works. I should have understood it sooner :)
Definitely taking that break.

#Fedilab has left the Google Play Store.
You can update your Google version manually using the APK files attached to the release notes.
For automatic updates shortly after the release, I recommend switching to Fedilab's custom F-Droid repository.
See how to do that in the next message of this thread.

#Fedilab 3.45.1 fixes a crash with art timelines and Pixelfed timelines. If you use those, skip 3.45.0 when it releases on F-Droid. Furthermore, a bug with the new "show description on hidden media" feature was fixed.

Hey @pixelfed@mastodon.social,
I am not sure where to find the API docs, especially for the endpoints that differ from the Mastodon API. I would like to support them in #Fedilab. Thank you for your work!

#Fedilab 3.45.0 has been published!
It brings several improvements and fixes. You can now add a colored mark next to avatars in timelines to easily identify content from some accounts. Large media files are automatically resized to what your instance supports. You can also publish directly from the message preview feature.
There are also many fixes, especially a lot of work on catching gaps in the Home timeline.

For those who still see gaps in their home timeline with #Fedilab, there is an open issue on #CodeBerg where I published two new APKs today:

This comment explains how to send reports: https://codeberg.org/tom79/Fedilab/issues/1410#issuecomment-23273524
Feel free to help. You can safely install the APK (Google or #FDroid version, from the custom repo) without breaking updates.

Just a reminder for people using #Mastodon compatible software: you can add a media description to your profile and header pictures. #Fedilab lets you add them through your profile.
To see descriptions from other accounts, tap their profile or header picture to open it, then tap it again to display the media description.

If you have an app that relies on alternative frontends such as #Invidious, #Nitter and others, it's often hard to maintain a list of instances. I had that problem with #UntrackMe and #CastLab, so a CI job now runs every day to maintain a list of available instances.
I might add support for this to #Fedilab.

#Fedilab 3.44.0 has been published!
You can now preview messages before posting. Home filters (long press on the tab) are now also available for local, public and list timelines. This version also includes several fixes, such as large gaps in the home timeline. If you still have issues, a tool lets you share anonymized data to help find what went wrong.

Just a small reminder, if you appreciate my work on my projects:
#Fedilab #CastLab #FediHood #HolosSocial #Fedle
You can support them through #Liberapay

Or #KoFi:

Thank you for considering it, if you can. Your support helps me keep going.

For the reverse timeline in #Fedilab, I should thank you for your patience.
At one point, I even thought I would not manage to make it work smoothly with all the options Fedilab offers.
Each time I fixed one issue, I was creating another one.

My TOP 3 improvements of
over the last year were...
- Reverse timeline reading order
- Reload all timelines at once
- Fix timeline being offset after restart
It also became faster, and much more stable for me.
What were your favorite improvements?

I spent a lot of time fixing bugs in #Fedilab, but what features are you missing the most?

Dropping the Google version of the app was a pleasure. I could finally remove all their restrictions:
- Register an account with #Fedilab
- Donation links
- Hard-coded filters for #PeerTube containing "download" and "YouTube"
The APK that I attach to release notes is signed with the same key, so Play users can install it over their current version.
I know Google is the best way to be known, but it has a price I am no longer willing to pay.

#Fedilab 3.43.4 has been published. It mostly fixes bugs and adds enhancements flagged as high priority.

PS: The Google APK is attached, with their restrictions removed.

It is amazing how out of memory errors stopped showing up in crash reports with #Fedilab. #LeakCanary really helped (I regret having disabled it for so long)

To Google users, you can still get the latest version of #Fedilab by downloading it from the release notes.

This is the same APK that I submitted to them (app id and signed key).
