@hamatti@mastodon.world I feel your pain. I've picked up water colours a few times and put them back down after ten minutes. The brain is full of ideas and enthusiasm, but it's not flowing to the brush. I envy people who can create with pens, pencils, paints.

@alfredb That's how I operate it too. I have a codeberg for my limited public repos, and a private forgejo. Interestingly, I looked at this last year when I decided to get off the GitHub train-wreck, and I noted that Codeberg T&Cs do not generally allow for private repos. Private repositories are only allowed for things required for FLOSS projects, like storing secrets, team-internal discussions or hiding projects from the public until they're ready for usage and/or contribution. They are also allowed for really small & personal stuff like your journal, config files, ideas or notes, but explicitly not as a personal cloud or media storage. @kev @alextheuxguy

@powRSS I really want to have it all removed. I have no time for AI written content. I'm here for the human aspect. Trying to give a balanced view, I'm thinking .. What about a flag on all their posts: "may contain AI content " for any blog owners who use AI. The viewer can then decide to read it not. Or does that create too much work for you?

@aral I completely agree. It's like ditching a language interpreter and asking an online service to do it. You might get the basics but you will miss the details and eventually you will misunderstand entirely. All this AI code is going to eventually expose us to massive data breaches and failures.

Are any of my followers on the mastodon.cloud server?

You should think about migrating away. There's a growing discussion that some servers are going to defederate (disconnect) from the server. This means that servers will not process any posts from mastodon.cloud.

Why? mastodon.cloud is not maintained. The server software is very outdated and contains security vulnerability. Also, there is no active moderation, resulting in abusive content and new accounts being created for spam. I read that there have been many attempts to contact the admin team but no response for a few years!

I set up my trail camera last night in the garden. Something keeps running off with the dogs ball. I'm continually buying new ones. Even the lady in the pet shop asked me yesterday why I keep buying them.

@StarkRG They also have mstdn.jp (japan) which is a big server -- again very old and insecure. mastodon.cloud has 1.8k Monthly active users mstdn.jp has 11k Monthly active users 700k registered accounts between them! Of course many of those could be spam & bots. @mayintoronto @Jorsh @WiteWulf

It has never let me down on detecting hardware, even on older machines. I have it running on a 12 year old iMac and a MacBookPro from 8 years ago. Plus a friends old Del.
