I am now at home. After the failed cardioversion they let me out, pending further fiddling at a (hopefully not too distant) future time. Still in AF, just extra drugs to keep a lid on the excessive heart rate and tide me over from now until that happens.

I am pleased to be home after my hospital stay, except for the text from my Mum this morning which says "Now you've had time to recover, we will be down to visit you soon."
Call 999. I think I have a relapse coming on.

Oh nooos... the noisy sparkly dancy thing begins again tonight.
Really must get some of those clever noise cancellation headphones. Or train J to record it and watch it later when I've gone to bed.

My ankle is better today, and I can walk around the house without the aid of my walking stick. Hurrah.
I'm not going to though.
I'm going to sit right here, rest it a bit more, read my book and drink some tea. By order of J, who has gone to work today.
Hoping that the dog will be happy with a 200 metre walk up the lane outside, instead of a two kilometre one in the woods. She'll have to be really, I can't really risk doing too much on it and setting it off again.

Just found out that the odd and almost subsonic rumbling for three or four seconds on Monday morning, that we put down to some isolated thunder close by, was in fact a 1.4 magnitude earthquake.

Good evening. Happy today that in the GP lottery of my local doctor's surgery, I got to see the one with the no nonsense, matter of fact, 'can do' attitude.
Bedside manner is all well and good, but some of them are so non-committal and nice but NOTHING HAPPENS.
This guy, listen, a few questions, examine, OK, I think it's your heart, not your lungs causing your short breath, I need an Echo to get closer, bosh, turns to computer, turns back, OK, next week OK for you? Done, anything else, no, OK, bye.
Also came up that I hadn't seen an MS specialist since we moved here ahem, eleven years ago. OK, sorted that, we need to do it just in case it's a new symptom (I'm aware that I've been unintentionally holding my breath sometimes, perhaps while concentrating on something simple like chopping veg etc, exacerbating the breath shortness obvs.)
Bloody months I've been waiting for some sort of action. Minutes to get some. Hurrah. But also grrr..

It was already horsefly season, but now the as yet unidentified, silent and stealthy little bitey bastards flies have started too.
Unfortunately I seem to be of the right blood type to be attractive to unidentified little bitey bastard flies.
These are currently the only two creatures in the entirety of creation that I will kill on sight.

Example: My son messages to apologise for not messaging in reply to me yesterday. He tells me my niece, who was expecting, had her second child two days ago, and supplies a photograph of new addition to family, taken by her mother - my sister.
My brain is already scrambled by being out of sync with my morning routines being spoiled, but now it is spiralling downwards.
'Why haven't they (they being the core Devon branch of my family. parents, brother, sister, niece and nephew) told me this news yet? Two days ago? What have I done to upset them? (apart from the whole not talking to Mum and Dad since they got too Daily Mail for me of course)'
Decide to wait and see how long it takes for someone on that side of the family to remember I still exist down here in Cornwall and would quite like to be up to date with family goings on but no one ever tells me anything.
Wondering if I've been shadow-banned.

Swiftly changed my display name to address Will's feeling that we don't discuss tea as much as we should here on cupoftea.social
Now I mention it every time I toot.

Good morning. Our part of Cornwall is not yet cooking, but the thermostat is gradually being wound up. 'Only' 24° max today. Still, a fairly early dog walk is wise, plus then a good possibility of outdoor work being an option, before the 30° plus hits tomorrow when hiding from it will be more likely.

Weird behaviour time. There's no spellcheck in my Vivaldi browser on my laptop, there is on the Vivaldi on desktop - and supposedly they're in sync.
But I can't find any spellcheck on or off choice in the settings?
Anyway, if you see odd spelling or typos on my posts in the afternoon or evening, that'll be why.

@scrbblns@beige.party It turns out that cupoftea.social is actually fine, and that my Vivaldi browser is refusing to find/resolve/some random other technical sounding thing it.
Firefox finds it fine, which is a nice alliterative phrase but gets me no closer towards understanding what the F is going on.

Glad FIFA is so consistent.
Mind you, Starmer probably made a phone call when it was just a one game suspension, and this is the result.

Oh, Kevin Keegan. That is sad. He was the first star footballer I used to pretend to be in playground matches, and probably the reason I was LFC and not MUFC like the rest of the gang.

NB: I have added other things really, but it was funnier to just leave (leaf) it as lettuce and I didn't want to bore you with a list of vegetables.
Anyone know what's in the middle of Lidl this week?

Dear BBC Sports site (the only 'news' site I have a quick look at in the mornings).
We know what Trump looks like. We do not need any pictures of Trump to ruin our morning on the sports site. We thought we'd be safe from seeing him there.

Good morning. Been out for a walk with the dog. Was feeling virtuous by being out and enjoying a cooler sun at 7am, but we saw a neighbour with his dog out this morning too, and he said they were coming to the end of their walk, having started at 5.30 a.m.
Luckily he's not called Jones, so I don't have to keep up with him.

@emsquared@social.coop Haha, I was a teenage brass band member!
I played the Euphonium, on account of being a 'big lad', therefore apparently the most well equipped to carry the massive bloody thing around for practice and concerts.

Having watched two matches of tennis at Wimbledon this year (the first time for many years) I am a tennis expert.
I conclude that Fery has very little chance of winning this semi-final, but at least he does have a tiny chance, because he's in it.

If it comes to it, I am extremely capable of just not even pretending to participate in any kind of the remote family's (not that remote really, just figuratively distant perhaps) news, events and milestones etc., if only they wouldn't occasionally get a fit of the "Oh, must speak to our son/brother/uncle" and start talking to me about stuff they assume I know.
"Who's that? When was that? You went where?"
Makes me think I've gone senile at first, when it was probably just that no one has ever told me anything about this stuff before. I'm not fucking psychic.
Time to stop typing. Gone into the red zone.
