@futurebird TL;DR, you can make basically any shape out of a closed smooth line using trig and what draws the line is the point at the end of one or more vectors which rotates around the vector it’s connected to (or the origin) at a constant speed + direction

Yeah I'm familiar with apple referb. Great stuff, got my ipad and phone that way and didn't notice any differences then if I had just bought it new.
I would LOVE a macbook (great hardware and great battery, not to mention the addition to my walled garden) of some sort but again with the software issue, would rather not run VMs for a ton of stuff.
Second choice right behind framework is probably the Lenovo T series (really just have to see what the pricing looks like when it is launched 🤞 )

A Steamdeck would probably be the console I would get if I would got one but would rather spend that ~$500 on an additional 8GB ram....
APUs are getting pretty good so I'm sort of torn about getting one with a dedicated GPU (though that concern is really only for framework laptops where that is a separate module that you buy, any other laptop that I'm considering has that because theres not really a market for a mid/high laptop without a GPU)

Computer Engineering degree. I'm not planning on bringing a desktop so would much rather get a new laptop that I can 200% rely on for a longggg time.
In terms of OS, would love to run Linux but really just depends on what software I'll end up using because at least some engineering software doesn't play real nice with Linux. I've considered duel-booting windows and linux but I'll rather everything be in one place rather then spread across many systems.
I also do some medium weight gaming. Would love to get a #Framework if the finances work out
cc @frameworkcomputer if you're not familiar with them

sorry, I apologize for bringing you into my problems 😅. Also I'd like a bit more I/O then 2 USB-C, but I'm not sure if that would even matter because I did invest in a thunderbolt dock. laptops are dumb, too many options.

I would love to make what would be a framework printer but I won’t think I would be of much help lol

I wonder what it would be like to meet the person with the statistically most similar YouTube home page as myself

probably my least favorite accounts on this otherwise wonderful platform are those technology "news" accounts that really fill up tags such as #technology and therefore fill up my timeline

@bart@floss.social I know… as someone who (was) in the market for a new laptop until yesterday I can say it is very intriguing…
…maybe a bit too intriguing…

@geerlingguy@mastodon.social Have you (or anyone else here) had any experience with the Elegoo Centauri Carbon? I'm a little fed up with my gen 1Ender 3 and I don't want to down the Bambu Lab route because of all this stuff...
