Canceled my @ProPublica@newsie.social recurring donation. Not only have they taken 2 years to still not agree on a contract with their union, but one of the issues PP won’t relent on is removing AI from their platform.
It’s really a shame because ProPublica’s writers do great work. But I won’t support a company that embraces AI in such a blatant way.

@mattgemmell@mastodon.scot @saschadiercks@mastodon.social Wow, talk about timing!! I literally just finished writing a similar post I publish on Tuesday:
"The Apple I Used to Know - Apple’s moral compass is broken and Tim Cook’s silence is the loudest symptom.”
April is in the books and here's my top 6 albums, courtesy of ListenBrainz:
1. Cruel World - Holly Humberstone
2. MUNA - MUNA
3. Things We Do For Love - The Sounds
4. Wolf’s Law - The Joy Formidable
5. Weekend - The Sounds
6. Gold Star Baby - The Aces

@jedda@social.lol Welcome back. Great post. Life is messy and it’s all about how we handle it.

@LJ@zirk.us Please let me know what company you settle on. I am periodically in the market for stickers.

@ncoca @ProPublica Possibly. My thoughts for this year is to donate that money to FOSS projects I’ve become reliant on. My $5 a month goes a lot further.
RE: @Aaron@social.aaroncrocco.com
It's been 2 weeks since Bookshop.org sent me this damaged book. They claim the replacement book shipped, but it never got here.
“We think it was either lost or damaged in transit between the warehouse and courier. We have no influence over a package once it reaches this point.”
They're going to ship me a THIRD book (I had to agree to return the lost one if it comes). I should've just went to B&N and bought it in person. This company is complete amateur hour. #Bookstodon

@jedda@social.lol TBH, there’s very few “wrong” ways. I’m glad you have your wife to lean on and your writing too. Just remember that you are enough.
I legit need to take like 3 weeks off from work just so i can have enough downtime so i can then get some writing done. I’m so mentally tired these days.

@Beachbum @ProPublica It’s crazy how quiet this story is. PP writers do great work but 2 years without a contract is downright criminal.

@cliffwade@infosec.exchange Jesus Christ. Literally. 🤦♂️
Wtf are we doing as a society to allow these charlatans to roam free.

@jvoisin@infosec.exchange Just read this and it’s a FASCINATING recount. And I love your note that it’s something you think you’d like to read because I loved reading it. Sorry it was such a ridiculous process but glad you dodged a bullet from a toxic workplace. Thanks for sharing the tale.

@gedeonm@mastodon.social For sure. That’s why I’m not really a Silversun Pickups fan anymore.
