One of my favorite finished objects is this penguin toy from Susan B Anderson. He turns inside out from an egg to a penguin and is so fun! I made him as a gift for @Pufferfish@wandering.shop many years ago. I don’t really know why I haven’t made more but it’s probably due to focusing on more practical, wearable things now instead of toys. My boss sent us home. My bf at the time was in Boston and had been supposed to fly to Singapore that day. I sat in my apartment alone watching the news. And knitting. I cast on a chunky sweater and finished almost all of it that day. And then I never touched it again. It sat and sat until one day I decided - this sweater has too much in it. You’re never going to finish it. And I put it in a large garbage bag and threw it all away. #knitting #FinishorFrogAlong

Potato has been learning JavaScript and just put up “Potato-doro”, a free pomodoro style task and break timer that lets you set your own times for test, focus, snack, nap, etc. AND, has a cry button for when the world is just too much. It had to do with few people, and definitely no people of similar age or intellectual interests. As a child. I wish i could have communicated with similar minded children in some way.

Today is the first day of Tour de France, and therefore also Tour de Fleece, where spinners spin each day the bikers race. I'm starting with spinning up these amazing braids of Rambouillet dyed by Fossil Fibers - Bee Hummingbird colorway. #TourDeFleece today was a rest day but I spun anyway and will likely take a different day off. I finished plying my Blanket Octopus spin. As I mentioned yesterday, the second bobbin was a lot finer than the first. I ran out of singles from the first while I still had about 1 oz left on the second. I made a center pull ball with what was left and plied from the inside and outside of that ball. It’s been soaked and snapped and is now drying. #Handspinning #TourDeFleece2026 #TextileArts #FiberArts

Pretty much everyone who has ever scrapped a project would use those materials for another project. I have to admit that I have on occasion donated them, and in cases where I just couldn’t see myself using those materials (or they were too hard to use again), I have tossed them. #FinishOrFrogAlong

I finished the Riggies Cowl I made with yarn I bought in Shetland from West Lynne. I didn’t do a perfect job of stitching up the back (that sewing is my least favorite activity) but it doesn’t bother me. It stands up really well (the pattern does say you have to use the right texture of yarn to get that effect) and fits exactly how I wanted it to. #knitting #shetland #yarn #FiberArts #TextileArts

It’s April 2 and time for my monthly round up of my #FiberGoals. I have done 5+ min of fiberarts for 92 consecutive days. Mostly spinning, sometimes knitting. I also made hexiflats (3 handspun). AND, I completed one project from spinning through knitting (my S2KAL Jaunty). Other things - like progress on the Advent calendar - have fallen away. That will probably be a next year thing at this point. I’m really happy with what I’m doing right now. #TextileArt #handSpinning #knitting #FiberArts

I don't know if either if them is super accessible though… I do like Finch which lets you answer questions with your friend group, send vibes/encouragement, pursue goals together. It's better with peeps.
