@theorytoe@ak.kyaruc.moe @ireneista@adhd.irenes.space @fogti@chaos.social @hllizi@hespere.de @lcamtuf@infosec.exchange memory safety isn't that much of a concern for me. any experienced c dev can write memory safe c, if they focus on it. the problem with c has never been memory safety, it has always been UB: perfectly fine looking C code becoming vulnerable with a ggc update, because gcc decided they could optimize harder and drop UB code. Luckily UB is slowly getting removed from C. While rust does not suffer from UB, it has anti-features that really make me want to avoid it. C isn't perfect, but it is much closer to what i want than any other language.

ist mir auch nicht verständlich warum man nicht einfach kurz absteigt, wenn man so viel schiss vor überholenden autos und motorädern hat. hab ich jahre lang so gemacht. ist natürlich viel geiler sich online darüber zu auszulassen, dass weder auto- noch motoradfahrer lust haben ewig auf einen zu warten, während man weit unterhalb der geschwindigkeitsbegrenzung auf dem rad rumpimmelt.

"breeding fetish" is similar to "i want to have sex, because i read in men's health magazin, that it is healthy". yes, evolution gave you sex drive, so you'd reproduce, but that doesn't mean you'd have to glorify reproduction.
