@euval@mastodon.top This was a hybrid attack (not the first, Morocco did the same thing back in 2021 over Polisario, now it's Algeria visits), it's no different from what Lukashenka did with Poland. It didn't stop Donald Tusk from tweeting out bold-faced lies about Schengen and fingerwagging about how we need to learn from Poland. @pmroman@toot.community My deep scepticism about nostalgia makes me doubt there was ever a golden era in which the vast majority DIDN'T prioritise political survival (nothing wrong with that, imo, can't do much for 🇪🇺 from opposition) and not only national but also clientele networks interests. They refused to fund Sofia Corradi's Erasmus for many years in the golden era.

That said:

Everyone is 9 now.

@energisch_@troet.cafe I'm not making an argument against the electoral system, I'm quite in favour of not directly electing PMs and for parliamentarianism. Presidentialism is a trash system far too dependant on personality and vibes. But given the last 30 years of German Chancellors who were dogshit for Europe (yes, even Merkel, tho she was by far the least bad) from both the SPD and the CDU (the SPD has a Gazprom lobby wing, ffs!), I'm giving up on Germany. Rule from the imperial centre in DC it is.

Otherwise, EU candidate Serbia and EU member Croatia don't like each other much, but haven't been at war in 30 years. Germany and France stopped fighting 81 years ago and no other EU member state is at war (not even Greece or Cyprus), so what inclusive posting do you want the Commission to make? @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu

And sure, a lot of parents already try their hardest and teachers too and yes, funding them better would help.
