Upcoming oil crisis, #ChatControl (do repel it finally), electrification, energy production, #OpenSource sovereign tech development across institutions, software security issues aided with AI models being semi-reliably find vulnerabilities (where there's little people capable/willing to fix those where most of them do it voluntarily already). So please, focus on these.

Since our entire society depends on money it is sad to see that most banks are intentionally not working elsewhere. And the ability not to depend on american big-tech to use our money should be a topic of EU security. We shall not forget the VISA, MasterCard & Stripe censorship imposed on legal games on stores last year and they can do it again.

@Catha@masto.es Now this is argumentation faul. First, I'm allow to criticize something I'm not participating in. I do not need to be Nazi or kill someone to critize it. Second, I haven't choose this job so it really isn't my problem. (Although, I might get my self involved in politics as a job rather soon.) Third, I'm aware that the politicians (depending on the level and post) is highly stressful and contrary to popular believe hard job. That doesn't dismiss my argument, tho, rather the opposite.

Still, I'd rather if a sustainable infrastructure would be build first (like strengthening the power grid and making electrical energy prioritize homes before data-centers and finally building geothermal power-plants) than any data-centers would be approved.

And yes, most works and can be made to work, however, the official GOS Mastodon account reported few times that certain companies blocked the use of GOS. Some of those were made able to work again, but if the companies would be supportive instead of hostile towards custom ROMs in general, I believe we both would agree it would be much better.

@The_Universality @Tutanota I'm not sure you understand what these banners are actually for. the gdpr doesn't require them in any way - they are entirely an invention by the marketing industry to trick you into giving false 'consent', while looking close enough to compliance that it takes years for the legal system to sort through it which, importantly, means that those banners can claim *literally anything*, there is absolutely nothing that ensures in any way that it tells you truthfully about

Contrary to the a completely unnecessary outreach regarding the AI alt text generation support would be better than this. Although I hate most AI for the way it was unethically trained and (how most people use it) having an ethically trained micro/nano model seems more beneficial. I just don't see those not bothering with ALT choosing to dictate the ALT instead. (I'm not against it, tho.)

Its not really about the unedited Linux kernel on touch devices.

You see, there aren't many competing Linux alternatives to the Android distro. Ubuntu Touch isn't really usable.

The discussion should be rather about distros whose base is Andoird.

For example GrapheneOS which is hardened specifically for security.

There are few issues with this response I must point out.

Android is a Linux distribution that is officially "open-source".
While Linux has so many CVEs which discover rate was accelerate by AI, closed-source systems aren't except to CVEs. You just don't see it and they won't tell you, which I would argue is worse. (They mostly do not even bother fixing those as they'd need to pay those fixing it, with open-source, there're people & companies fixing those)

@Catha@masto.es As for my research, I'm very well informed on this. Why do you think some companies moved to 4 days work 3 days off weeks? Precisely due to this. Some research done on employees in larger corporations even claim that from 8 hour work day the people are in the deep work around 1:30 hour. So I do know about this. (Although since it is OSS it would be spotted quickly.) Now do I think something like this will happen with your services? No, not really. You are, at least for now, fighting the anti-privacy propaganda. But it isn't impossible for it to happen. So while you are a service that I would recommend to others I must still be critical.

The EC and EU are continuously working on lesser important things waiting for disaster to happen before changing something. Look at the recent 46% electrification proposal. If not for the USA-Israel was against Iran causing the oil schock, I would doubt if would be announced this year. We rather discuss ChatControl then resolving the digital dependence, etc (1/2)
