Just because you get your day in court and win does not un-violate your rights or undo the life-altering damage of those violations.

My state primaries are coming up. I’m most interested in the county council elections - both the county executive and my county Councilmember could potentially be replaced by much more progressive candidates.

If they win, it will radically shift the county council to be much less cop-friendly than before. We might also expand and strengthen existing rent stabilization laws.

Anyway, I got yard signs!

Two of my County Council members (one of whom will be County Executive next year) just introduced a bill to ban former employees of ICE and CBP from serving in local government jobs. We need more of this kind of energy. Working for fascist goon squads should make people ineligible for any position of power or responsibility.

So that part is real, or uncomfortably close to it.

AI coding agents are one of the factors contributing to shorter intervals between “vulnerability discovery” and “working exploit”
Orgs can’t be bothered to patch known vulnerabilities in a timely fashion so a huge proportion of cyberattacks and their associated damage are down to bugs that have been known about (and left unpatched) for half a year or more

Last time I visited there were a bunch of anti-wind farm flyers claiming that it would ruin the ocean views from the beaches and harm the tourism industry. But the horizon is 3 miles away, if you’re standing on the beach. You wouldn’t be able to see the wind farm at all. It’s ridiculous.

The way this usually works is that they make you do all kinds of paperwork, over and over, to prove you have a qualifying medical condition and that you should be able to keep your benefits. That is, if they even give you the opportunity to do the paperwork and don’t just cut you off.
