No, knave came from OE cnafa, meaning a young male or particularly a servant (like the French garçon): so the happy children and the servant children.

Here (Scotland) when glass soft drinks bottles had a deposit, it was commonplace for people to give them to neighbouring children, who would exchange them at the shop for sweets. It was generally considered a win-win.
(After the drink companies stopped those deposits, ScotGov tried to bring in a statutory deposit scheme like most of Europe has, but Westminster vetoed it 🤬)

Yes (from which Esperanto made "knabo"), and the Danish "knabe" for a page (as in servant)- all cognates with modern meanings evolved from the common ancestor.

Well of course there are the jute, hemp, or piano wire alternatives, according to national custom.
Or nationalise their assets & for those who have made public averments of religiosity confine them to a monastic cell, bare of all distractions, in order that they can meditate for the purification of their soul, free from worldly distractions; the rest can be confined to a mental hospital to cure their compulsive acquisition syndromes.

You become an MSP by being resident in Scotland and either not needing leave to remain in the UK, or holding any such leave to remain (s16 Scotland Act 1998 as amended), and being elected.
If they choose to leave, that would imply resignation from being MSP. If they are forced to leave, there would be no such implication.

Meanwhile the management are keeping as top secret that Jesus is genetically XX but a specific epigenetic trigger makes the body develop as male. If that isn't applied, the clone will be female and capable of parthogenetic reproduction (The Mary Syndrome).

Nah, unknown to the protagonist they were only using the meat to make SG; the brains & nervous tissue was being destructively scanned & virtually replicated to upload people-models into slave-robots.
Why else do you think the ruling classes were allowing the population to continue to increase rather than just wiping out millions of plebs to create farmland?

“but they also do shift our temporal focus from thinking about the glory days that we used to have to thinking about how can we build a different future.”
Or as The Corries put it, 40-odd years ago:
"To dwell on past glories at the cost of invention
Is to squander the gifts that our forefathers gave
So take strength from the past but declare your intention
To change this dear land back to Scotland the Brave"

Problem with parties being government funded is either (a) established parties could exclude rivals from forming, or (b) grifters would form "parties" merely to access the money.
Not insurmountable problems, but neither is putting in place restrictions on how parties can privately fundraise.

Wouldn't have to be, depending on what powers are exclusive to the federal govt and which to the national govts.
But at this stage it's academic anyway; governments in England have been centralising since 1066, and there's no chance of that changing now without something as radical as breaking up the UK (and maybe not even then).

It is legal under the doctrines of "Quia sic dico" and "what you gonna do about it", under the overarching principle of "might makes right".

I'll interject here to note that there are a lot of those wanting independence who are not bothered whether or not we retain the monarchy, and there are a fair number who want both independence and to ditch the royals, but the sentiment for independence but only if we keep the monarchy is insignificant (if it exists at all).
Whether or not the royals are retained at all will certainly depend on how independence is achieved.

Organised civil disobedience before UDI. You can make all the declarations you like, the international community won't accept them until you can clearly demonstrate the pre-existing regime no longer has effective control of the territory/nation in question & isn't going to quickly get it back.

If the UK had become federal when it was discussed 1880-1920s, it would have been an option & could even have included Ireland. By 1980-90s when it would still have been an acceptable option for Scotland, it was never going to get support in England. So that ship has indeed sailed.
Of course a united Ireland & independent Scotland might both consider federalism as a solution to some of their respective issues too.

If we move from etymology to entymology, "puss" was an old word for a hare too and was used for many fluffy things ("pussy baudron" a fluffy cat, "pussy willow" a fluffy catkin, etc)

Though currently the lower bills are going to the south of England due to the biased charging schemes for electricity. Energy is of course a "reserved matter" to Westminster, who doesn't want to change that. So another reason for independence.
