In Wes Streeting's resignation letter, he says, "For the first time in our country's history, nationalists are in power in every corner of the United Kingdom - including a dangerous English nationalism represented by Nigel Farage and Reform UK."
To equate Plaid Cymru, Sinn Féin, and the SNP with Reform shows how little the Labour Government understands the public mood.

The people of Scotland have elected a huge majority in favour of Scottish independence. There is a growing movement across these islands that what we have isn't good enough. In Wales, Plaid Cymru is the biggest party, and in Northern Ireland, Sinn Féin is the largest Irish nationalist party.
Change is coming to these islands, even if the richest and most powerful don't like it.
Now is the time to join us.
A post which perfectly sums up the absurdity surrounding the future of the union. Heads in the sand?
"Just listening to the BBC explaining that Scotland couldn't have
independence because Westminster wouldn't allow it - as if that was a
perfectly acceptable democratic system. They say it is a voluntary union
but the refusal to discuss the future of the UK seems remarkable."
Why do we allow bribes for politicians? Whether from foreign governments, big business, or oligarchs, they are all splashing the cash through direct donations, funding for trips and other perks and lucrative, non-parliamentary roles.
I just cannot see why this in any way benefits our democracy. Maybe I am naive.
