I just discovered the #Fediverse #Webring at https://fediring.net/ 2020s Web meets 1990s Web. 🤯 So I just wondered if there's WAP client for Mastodon or maybe even Pixelfed? Maybe a Pixelfed instance with images in just WBMP (or BMP or TIFF) format? 🤪 Then again, there are working projects like DOStodon by @dec_hl@mastodon.social, so maybe these crazy ideas aren't that unrealistic. Gestern spätnachmittag bin ich mit dem #BromptonElectricGLine von Zürich zum alljährlichen (dieses Jahr wieder wegen #Waldbrandgefahr Nicht-)Grilltreff der @lugschweiz@net.miaumuh.ch nach Winterthur geradelt und nachts auch wieder zurück. Zusammen waren's 54km und 387hm. Hatte zwar zur Sicherheit 'nen zweiten Akku dabei, aber der erste ging erst kurz vor zuhause leer. Letzte Nacht noch um den Flughafen geradelt, insofern 82km und 606hm innert 24h. #Rausgeschafft #Brompton #GLine #BromptonGLine #mdRddG #LUGS

Der 2. Vorfall an der #CriticalMass #Zürich war eine Kollision durch ein Velofahry, das entgegen dem Pulk fuhr. Es kam zu einem Aufreissen der #CMZH und wir Corker haben aber gesehen, dass weiter hinten noch ein grosser Pulk steht und haben die Strasse weiter blockiert, weil immer wieder kritische Elemente nachtröpfelten. Entsprechend Unverständnis + Hupkonzert bei den Autofahrys. Ausserdem gab's kurz nach obigem Video noch ein Sturz im Pulk, ging aber glimpflich aus und schnell wieder weiter.

Then again, I think I so far haven't an e-bike which can do that. On the Electric Bromptons, when the e-assist stops due to a nearly empty battery, there's still enough power left for two hours of lighting, at least according to the manual.

@oheso @moira @yantor3d @ascentale @bikenite #BikeNite A1 followup: I have one SON hub dynamo since 2007, one since 2017 (both in Bromptons) and one since 2024 (in a 1995 recumbent). Never had any issues with them. Headlights are SON Edelux (2007), Busch & Müller (BuMM) IQ-X (2017) and SON Edelux 2 (2024). Unhappy with the awkward electronic switch of the IQ-X, otherwise happy. So far only replaced one of the taillights on the 2017 Brompton with a BuMM Top Line with brake sensor a few years ago.

Didn't know that this is legal now. And for me, such a "feature" is rather scary and it would be a reason to _not_ buy that car. (Albeit modern cars have already way to many "features" which are a no-go for me anyways, so this just adds up.)

@ascentale @bikenite #BikeNite A1 conttinued: Nowadays I see my USB-rechargable lights as primary lights and the dynamo lights as (permanently on and available) secondary lights because they're less bright than most of my USB-rechargable lights by Magicshine (head light with hi/low beam and Garmin mounts, larger taillights with brake light), Ravemen (to be seen headlight + powerbank, with Garmin mounts) and Knog (trailer taillights, smaller spare taillights and spare to be seen headlights). 2/2

My first #Magicshine (a Hori 1300 hi/low beam headlight) is now half an year old and still works fine after nearly daily usage. No Open Source project can accept AI based contributions unless the licenses and copyright owners of all code on which the LLM has been trained on (or at least those which were used for the generated code, if the LLM supports that) are known and listed together with the AI generated contribution. I stumbled upon Moon only recently and their lights look decent (except the cheapest), so thanks for that confirmation of my gut feeling. 😊 The current Bromptons have Lezyne headlights and I'm not happy with them (e-bike version): Not so bright, only a very narrow beam and a not so far reaching flood light, 1.5m maybe. You barely see its light with the Magicshine Hori on.
