A visitor turned around after we showed her the chickens. She pointed and asked "what tree is this?"
Our oldest kale, going on five years, got a serious pruning, down to main trunk and some branch stubs.
The diameter of the main "stem" is just under 3 inches, pretty much the same as our six year old white peach tree.

Checking out the front yard, a car pulls up. It's D, and before I know it he approaches with an arm full of cartons. And a big smile.

We'll give a bunch to neighbors and keep a dozen or two.
