I shall add that what started my big-tech liberation journey was a Mastodon blog series by a lady doing a 30-day big-tech cleanse: each day, one service to ditch and alternatives.
Granted, it’s taken me much longer than 30 days. I’m nearly 3 years in.
Nonetheless, wherever you are, thank you for sparking the curiosity, and to this amazing community for existing.
I never imagined that leaving Twitter and trying out this Mastodon thing would be such a wholesome, transformative experience.

What would happen if natural languages behaved like programming languages?
I’m no expert in programming languages, but I know enough to realize that the slightest mistake can mess up hundreds of lines of code. Luckily for us, speakers of natural languages are better at deciphering messages, even those abound in morphosyntactic blunders.

Looking for recommendations of free, open source PDF readers to substitute the increasingly annoying Adobe Acrobat.
It doesn't need to be anything fancy, just for reading and signing a document / inserting a picture with a signature every once in a while.

None of their calendars convinced me, and in the spirit of diversifying, I didn't want to have my emails and appointments in the same place.
Fossify was easy to set up on a server and comnect via DAVx5.

You can set the time zone for any event, and I think the last time zone you pick is the default shown the next time you create a new event. Does that answer the question? If not, please elaborate. ☺️
