@odd in my experience: Basically after trying to interact with various journalists on Twitter, you'd know which ones were there to actually participate in a public discussions, which ones would only reply to their "mutuals" while scoffing at everyone else, and which ones only posted to self-promote and didnt engage at all. @Haste

Gut, dass diese Reform jetzt umgesetzt wird – nachdem der Wunsch schon jahrzehntelang geäußert wurde!

@stragu @SecoasecasMouse afaik @Mastodon is currently still under German jurisdiction anyway, if the German government wanted them to censor certain content (on Mastodon.social or a gmbh-operated FASP server) they could probably already tell them so. The funding doesnt change much in that regard.. and I do not think Mastodon would agree to such demands.

There are legal reasons for why the commission can only use certain instruments in certain political areas. The commission does not have the powers given by the union treaties to issue directives or regulations in any field they want to. @afewbugs@social.coop

The commission can use regulations, directives, recommendations etc - and in some fields of politics, they simply can't use all of them due to how the EU works. @afewbugs@social.coop

@Fnordinger it is the peoples' choice. Die einen werden eine europäische Plattform eines Großkonzerns bevorzugen. Die anderen eine open source Plattform eines amerikanischen alternativen Kollektivs. Und die dritten wollen beides: europäisch und open source, aber nicht vom Großkonzern.
Leute wollen unterschiedliche Singe. Und so, wie wir bei digitaler Privacy von verschiedenen Threat Models sprechen, die unterschiedliche Schlüsse nach sich ziehen, ist es auch hier mMn.

I think it's actually a great thing because it allows a proper race for championship points, usually a lot of teams wouldnt even be near them at this point. But that should happen by technical dnfs, not by dns.
