@randahl@mastodon.social ...And my electric bill in the far-suburbs of Chicago has gone up around 30% since the nearby data centers went online. (Yes, that was plural.)
No new power supply
- an entire huge city of households usage added to the grid = MY utility prices go up.
Thankfully, our new Mayor is putting a moratorium on new #DataCenters .

I will not be watching the new #Punisher show on #Disney, even though I've made sure to see all the rest of the #MCU . I did start to watch it. But within the first few minutes, a small dog is killed by a street thug (without warning).
I did expect a lot of violence to humans, but not to #dogs. I cannot watch anyone harm a dog.
I don't consider posting this "spoilers," as much as it's a #ContentWarning .
Yes, I should have checked DoesTheDogDie.com , but I expected better.

#FamilyFarms are some of the biggest benefactors from #GreenEnergy . In the USA, farmers can get paid thousands of dollars for each wind turbine on their land. This is a reliable source of income in an industry that gambles heavily on the weather and market prices.

#HappyBirthday to #PerryWhite !
March 12th is the official birthday of Perry White, the Editor in Chief of the #DailyPlanet .
Trivia:
* The character was introduced in the 1940's #OldTimeRadio show, several months before Perry White appeared in the comics. He was performed by Julian Noa.
* "Lois & Clark"s Lane Smith thought his Southern accent did not fit with the classic Perry White phrases, and changed them to reflect his own love of Elvis.

Glass plate negatives tend to be mostly from the 1910s, in my experience. Although they could be from a wider range than that, I can't say for sure.

Suggested sound effect for that USB ejection:
" 'Scuse me while I whip this out" (from #MelBrooks #BlazingSaddles ).

My local Chicago-area news reported last night that new #Covid #vaccine #boosters would begin to be available "sometime next week" (Sept 10-17) for people over 50. Usually, other groups are added to the list soon after the "over 50" crowd gets their shots. You should start checking the #CDC website for which date you can 1st get yours.

1) "Over 50" has almost always been the first stage of a new wave of vaccinations in the past. Fingers crossed. 🤞🤞
2) I'm over 50, so I didn't pay as close attention as I should have to the age limit when I heard it on the TV. My apologies.
3) I edited the original post to reflect that information. Thank you!
