I hate when I drop something and wake up a cat
Last day with these precious angel baby criminals. They are going to a PetSmart adoption center which is where most of our cats get adopted. They have been a delight and only damaged a handful of things. They did make using my computer very difficult many times

This kinda HR and management bullshit enrages me. Tons of people shift time around for a kid's play or so they can go to a pottery class, but when it is your or your family's health/mental health it is seen as taking advantage of the system. I got feedback both that I didn't share enough and I shared too much with management/hr when trying to thread the needle of being a human in a fascist patriarchy
Will I ever stop being mad at management bullshit? Randomly thinking of things two years ago that were relatively small but so demonstrative of outdated and bigoted thinking, but somehow I was the problem.

@xixora@mastodon.social the issue is they make the burden of proof quite difficult and they count anything over 3 days as an 'absence'. It's not just a short doctors note to the manager to get the leave approved. Also for many classes of workers if they are out of PTO (which you know the US is bad about anyway) they will only approve unpaid leave which is bad when the hospital bills are outrageous. The US is basically get sick and lose job as the default system.

Feeling weird. Thing I have been working on semi-solo happened today so I am just like oh I don't need to think about that anymore but its what I have been mostly thinking about for the last month so like... brain is confused

While painful, thinking about these things continues to help me be like yeah maybe better I'm not a manager anymore. I believe that you can be a good leader without being a hardliner and why be hard when the world already is, but administration wants managers not leaders. I am getting better at reclaiming my "too sensitive" label. I am too sensitive to coldly follow unwritten policies and too sensitive to justify every decision to them
