For the folk who were interested in #Tildagon #CO2 monitoring #Hexpansion, here' s a very hacky first stab at #Oxygon, a Tildagon app to talk to the #SCD41 sensor for high accuracy CO2 monitoring: https://codeberg.org/martin_hamilton/tildagon-oxygon
This is in the Tildagon app store as https://apps.badge.emfcamp.org/apps/00441330/ but requires a breakout hexpansion as per the README.
NB still need to add calibration mode, but it's a start! Some further ideas in the README - PRs welcome
I quite like the idea of logging CO2 by GPS (or wifi?) geolocation, perhaps over the network, and displayed on a/the #EMFCamp map. Crowdsourced #Datenzwerg could happen :gnomeHey:
Now to hit the #Kicad and see if I can figure out how to design an all-in-one PCB. Or perhaps a PCB that can easily be mated with the common CO2 sensor boards, the same way the Tildagon screen attaches to the front plate?

@mttaggart@infosec.exchange Being able to "adopt" hundreds of orphaned packages in one fell swoop feels like a major attack vector that could have significant friction added without getting in the way of genuine folk.
And maybe the GPG web of trust could be extended to the AUR, and established contributors grandfathered into it - so when you install an AUR package you get a warning if there's an untrusted maintainer? IIRC there's no key signing in AUR right now because there are no packages.
But... how to know whether that one person who wants to adopt that one package is legit? If there was some sort of well-known probation threshold like the 10 commits people have been discussing on aur-general, a malicious person could simply Jia Tan their way through that?! :breadthink:

Some ideas for further #EMFCamp #Oxygon #CO2 / #AirQuality monitoring app development, per https://codeberg.org/martin_hamilton/tildagon-oxygon
Feel free to have a go at any of these, and send a PR...
Add support for other common CO2 sensors, e.g. SCD-40 (also high accuracy but slightly cheaper), SGP-30 (eCO2 but cheaper again) and... ?
Add support for other air quality metrics e.g. SGP-30 also monitors VOCs.
Add some other functions to the library - e.g. calibration. This is just a
matter of sending the appropriate command sequence to the sensor, copying the code from the existing functions.
Improve presentation of results - e.g. options for font size, colour scheme, use of LEDs to signal air quality, graph CO2 / temperature / humidity levels.
Use buttons to cycle through options, and save the selected option so that it becomes the default when the app is next started.
Add support for running the app as a "background", with an at-a-glance indicator of CO2 levels.
Add logging capability, saving readings to the Tildagon's internal storage.
Add network logging capability, via wifi or perhaps Gadgetbridge.
Add network time support if required for logging / stats processing?
Add GPS support to logging, so we can track (map?) CO2 levels as we move around.
Design a hexpansion PCB which includes the SCD41 sensor, a cheaper sensor that gives "good enough" readings (SCD40, SGP30), or that mates with the common CO2 sensor boards?
