@jcrabapple@dmv.community This reminds me another real story from the early 90s, when massive power CB transceivers were still in use on cars. A couple of guys passing with their car in front of a police road control and their sensitive RF speed sensors. After a few passes with 1 kW of brutal transmission the officers had to pack their melted instrumentation and leave.
These controls are never targeting any real criminal: they're too dangerous.

Having a compact antagonist would be dangerous for them, so it's more convenient planting all the seeds of discord, fragmenting any block. Divide et impera.

They typically are discussing with low voice of internal fights to organize meetings on courses, about meeting organization.
This isn't a joke, just a report on conversations I witnessed. Payed to the bone with my taxes.
So, I'm pretty confident on how this translates, how it scales, in higher profile EU cathedrals.

It's a brave new world, to recall again literature no more that much fantasy.
