I've lived in Colorado for 50 years and this is the scariest map I've ever seen. #ClimateChange #Drought #ClimateActionNow

It’s been the worst year for Colorado’s snowpack in recorded history. A striking new map shows why. | The Colorado Sun

@ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org Oh, I so wish so often that pant makers would leave their pants unhemmed. I have a 33 1/2" inseam...finding pants anymore longer than 30" is a pain. A certain jean maker used to make inseams in odd number lengths (33")! Not anymore. I'm glad I took the time to learn to hem and adjust seams. I've altered a lot of stuff over the years.

@sundogplanets@mastodon.social I think the most annoying part of all this is; coproations are no longer operating in small regional areas where their environmental damages are more limited and can be easily remediated... They now operate on a global scale, with 8+ billion other humans and didn't ask any of us if it was ok to destroy the planet and human culture. And then they create narratives of how they're being 'altruistic'. Well, f**k SpaceX.

I'm just totally disgusted by this admin and law enforcement in general.

@davidho.bsky.social As an environemental scientist it is a weird comment to think that a piece of land that can't grow crops can simply be used for livestock. It is being used by wildlife...it could be an important watershed that would degrade if livestock were premitted. It could be important for timber management. And then there's carbon sequestering, leaving it alone. I understand the social and cultural impacts on food choices. Utilizing almost half of all grains grown in the US for livestock feed is probably not one of them.

@AvacadoAvenger@mastodon.social @juandesant@mathstodon.xyz @badastro@mastodon.social I live in Colorado and in the mountains it is difficult to get coverage. Except there is satellite coverage in nearly 100% of those areas. Those satellites already exist. In the 1990s I was using GPS to map vegetation in my job, rarely did I not get at least one satellite. Coverage is dependent on orbital routes of the satellites, not the number of them.

The costs of climate change. The party of fiscal responsibility does not care about these costs. And honestly who wants their governements spending more money after the fact when it's cheaper to stop emitting GHGs in the first place? It is nice to see an article that has the ski industry weighing in on the costs for resorts and the state. #ClimateActionNow #ClimateCrisis What will climate change cost Coloradans?
