@ainmosni@social.ainmosni.eu they are also saying that they would gladly resort to slavery if it wouldn't land them in jail. Anyone that believes "AI"s are sentient and should have rights should be horrified by the current business models.

@jwildeboer@social.wildeboer.net it depends on the mechanism. For the way European governments have been pushing, yes. An optional number that a device admin can set locally, with an API that can expose it so websites can block it (only) when it's present and < TARGET AGE wouldn't.

And since the latter is such an obvious solution to the child protection problem, I'm assuming this was never about age limits.

@jonny I was going to say LLMs also struggle to understand LLM generated code, but then I remembered that it will only lead to more tokens being used, and increase Anthropic’s revenue, so it's a win-win for them.

@gamingonlinux@mastodon.social they should, at very least, forbid using the term "buy" for any sale that can be revoked, and require a clear disclaimer if the game requires proprietary servers to work.

@randahl@mastodon.social In 2026 the US spends an higher percentage of the government budget in healthcare expenses than almost every single European country. If the US had universal healthcare, there would be _more_ money for bombs (or secondary things, like, say, housing), but the some plutocrats would need to forego their 5th yacht.

@goedelchen@mastodontech.de @randahl@mastodon.social that was given with private healthcare. But the public health spending in the US being ~15% of the GDP vs ~5% to ~10% in most EU countries, is completely bonkers. For that level of spending, not only should healthcare be free for patients, but hospitals should feel like 5 stars hotels.

@bloognoo @404mediaco there's lots of bad legal advice online, but there are also factors, like the existence of hundreds of different jurisdictions, and lots of nuances on each of them, and real life situations had complexity on top of it. You need to be able to *understand* things to navigate it even at a basic level, and LLMs aren't actually intelligent, so they will predictably fail on anything that's not 100% trivial.

@jwz@mastodon.social Amazon always tried to make the AWS data centers as "invisible" as possible for security reasons - there are relatively few pictures of AWS DCs online for this reason. I imagine they would just redouble the efforts when the photos can be used to improve targeting of ongoing attacks.
