Reposted this on bluesky since my bridged post was cut off. Some discussion happening here too: https://bsky.app/profile/incentive.bsky.social/post/3mrxh6edihk2h
I get conflicted about infosec.exchange- there's a lot of good tooters on there that I find pretty invaluable and would not have discovered if not seeing them relayed into my feed.
However there's a plethora of CVE bots and it's truly a nightmare. Muting them all is getting annoying.
I'd set the restriction for infosec to "limit" but then I'm going to miss stuff I do actually want to see.

What's a good alternative for Pixelfed instead of the main instance?

@iheartnoise.bandcamp.com I mean this looks insanely fresh - 11 music releases and 0 games. Did it *just* launch today??

@intransitivelie@beige.party It sounds like you just want to BSD and want justification for it. As long as it fits your needs- go for it.

@vrtrahan@lgbtqia.space Maybe lol, just something I saw in my feed. I'm just an old man who thinks for Linux most people should stick to Ubuntu/Mint, Fedora, or Arch (as long as they don't use the AUR) and other distros shouldn't really be considered until you have a better understand of what a distro even means if that makes sense.
That being said I love Gentoo and have a soft spot for some other distros from my distro-hopping days.

Finally told DistroKid I'm going to contact local representatives if they don't help me fix this years long issue with my music being sent to the wrong YouTube channel. Not sure what else to do since DistroKid and Google both refuse to help.

I don't know what's going on at my neighbors but the same 4 bars of some hip-hop instrumental have been blasting for over an hour now. I'm begging whoever lives next door to move on, you got it, you nailed this, come up with the next section plz 🫠

As a non-NYer, you don't really understand pizza disparity between NY and the rest of the world until you go to a random no-name restaurant in NYC and order a pizza- and its the greatest pizza you've ever had in your life.
Literally recall sitting there with my bro and both of us were about to start crying because we both knew there were a million places in NYC that had better pizza and this was probably considered passable to the locals

Seeing someone suggest Gentoo to someone as their first distro is wild
