Audiovisual arts installation in East London! Nah, just kidding… early morning hours in the area and this pyramid is always there.

DJ Stingray did a great job again! Such a lovely chap and brilliant artist to chat with whenever I see him after his sets. Saw him last night and I wanted his set to go on longer and longer! I feel too autistic to go to parties but sometimes it is worth it.
this was my lucky access to Buchla modules on Monday. Complex waveform generator, verbos multi-envelope, and source of uncertainty. quad function generator also particularly fun. Recorded over an hour of fiddling with these toys ehem modules when a student was absent. Happy the conservatoire has these tools but not many students show interest unless prompted.
On another note normally I find it so hard to get on with keyboards as a non-piano player. Guitarist. Different background. There is much to appreciate here. I have dedicated an upcoming episode in my podcast on pioneering electronic music composers to Subotnick and Buchla. even ADSR envelopes can be piano based in most synths but look at this… So much space for experimentation. Open space.
I am doing a live set tomorrow night on a boat in Greenwich as part of NAUS #2 - an evening of live electronic improvisation on board "A Slice of Reality". Please come over if you are in the area but rsvp soon as spaces turn out to be limited!
Quoting notes from the host Stephen Shiell with many thanks for inviting me to perform
“Six events organised as part of an artist residency. These are actions to explore the tensions that exist between the public and private. With series being curated around a love for experimental electronics...a chance to celebrate an underground London culture in a place that hasn’t been commercialised or capitalised, even though it lies at the heart of these very environments. The series will also be broadcast on Usma Radio (Italy), Diffuse (Australia) and Radio Tsonami (Chile), plus others to be confirmed.
These are events by artists for artists, not supported by funding bodies or institutions. “
Ps: I am keeping my setup minimal. I will only bring Freakbox (check my intro if you have not met freaky), and my laptop. It will be my first time to use Cardinal in a live setup. Running it as a VST in Live. But I also have Carla as a host for when I build my patches now.
cc: Special thanks to dearest @mosgaard@uddannelse.social for his suggestions, and for online introduction to Cardinal bosses @dreamer@mastodon.world and @falktx@mastodon.falktx.com Hoping to get some video footage.
That’s how you are supposed to play WITH these toys… EHEM… modules when you have a short break between your teaching sessions at work
Ps: I don’t own these
Figure 0C: Someone who is obsessed with the Retrig command in LSDJ’s noise channel. I am not sure if that’s what the mighty @defensem3ch@mstdn.social meant with “the joys of noise” hehe
