Replying to

@nixCraft@mastodon.social I agree and I would add POSIX sh(1) to the (.4) point ... at least on FreeBSD - I know bash(1) is the standard in the Linux world. I would generaly state (4.) point as UNIX pipe train tools, also tr(1), cut(1), column(1), head(1), tail(1) ... etc.

Replying to

@normis @dexter @stefano I used one of these when I had Sun Ultra 45 under my desk in one of previous work places for having fun with Solaris. While I like the heritage ... I may only have it as an artifact ... as I do not use numeric keyboard I prefer the 87 keys ANSI keyboards like this Freewolf M87 ... and wireless too (USB stick).

Replying to

@eugenialoli@mastodon.social @fischli@mstdn.social Its worth to mention Rawtherapee because when I had more time and played with both Darktable and Rawtherapee there was always something missing in the other one - using them both for various things was more or less complete solution. That was several years ago so things could have improved for both of them.

Replying to

@emaste@mastodon.social With current Mini PC market with AMD Ryzen (or Embedded) solutions for often less then $250 ... with case, power supply, and low power consumption, everything - I have exactly ZERO reasons to even try arm64 (aarch64). 2/2

Recently I got email from @Lenovo that ThinkPad T25 keyboard is again available to buy ... for almost $400 (with 15% OFF price drop).

That is about $340 ... its MORE then what I paid recently for ENTIRE ThinkPad T14 GEN1 (8C/16T AMD Ryzen) laptop.

Replying to

@geerlingguy The Framework is na nice concept ... pity it comes with such bad keyboard layout. It would be the best with 70-row ThinkPad like keyboard layout.

Replying to

@emaste@mastodon.social I used RPI2 (arm32) ... or officially ARMv7 ... and most things worked ... but a LOT packages missing. When I read about more recent (4/5) RPI models ... a lot LESS is supported ... I really have ZERO reasons to use RPI for anything. RockChip is also an alternative ... but I will probably hit other problems. 1/2
