@semitones@tiny.tilde.website @nina_kali_nina@tech.lgbt I don't know if 9front has an official policy, but core developers like Ori have been extremely vocal in their distaste for slop, so my guess is they don't allow it. I'm also tempted to try it again, maybe on that old Thinkpad I got for free... :moomin_hmm:

Are you using #Tailscale with the #Mullvad add-on? The UI for canceling your subscription is a bit tricky. They don't show you the "remove add-on" button, you have to click on "purchase more" and then at the bottom of that screen you can remove the add-on. Btw, @tailscale@hachyderm.io , having to click "purchase more" to cancel is very misleading.

Is there a way on #ZFS or #BTRFS to create a file that is the concatenation of two files?
So, cat a b > ab, but only taking up metadata?
Is the best way to just do the write and then ask the kernel to deduplicate it, and pray that it doesn't flush to disk in the meantime?
This would be really useful for serving smaller chunks of packages on #NixOS or #Guix, but also potentially on other distros as well, or even for general download optimization. (cc #bittorrent ?)

edit: Thanks, apparently there is an ioctl for this:
https://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man2/ioctl_ficlonerange.2.html

Re-did the micropore tape mod on both sides of my IEM and now it's not unbalanced, it's just quiet. But ah well, I find myself having to keep headphone volume in the 1-4% range anyway.

Ah fuck, two of my favorite local restaurants (Emmarozs and Zöldlevelecske) might have to end up on my "do not buy" list based on what I've read about how they treat their workers. But at least this will motivate me to check out some newly recommended ones.

@cwebber Holy shit, mini rant: A very senior battle hardened compiler and browser dev friend told me today with awe in his eyes that ChatGPT told him how to determine which quarter a month is in: (month - 1) // 3 * 3 + 1) I didn't have the heart to tell him that that was not even a little bit complicated. Maybe I made the right choice by working on x86 sizecoding and Project Euler problems in my spare time.

@irene@discuss.systems I try to. It does take a lot of conscious effort. Not just with books, I also try to find music and series that aren't made solely by men, or - more generally - people who have a similar background to mine. I hope I'm doing my part by recommending Tuca&Bertie and Broad City to anyone who'll listen. :neofox_laugh_sweat: But for real, there is a tokenism trap when someone first realizes they are only listening to men, so they might find a woman who censors herself enough to fit in and be "one of the bros". I know I've done this, it took some effort to begin to unlearn it and engage with female authors who initially made me uncomfortable.

@gwil@post.lurk.org Where could I contribute a musl build? I'd like to run this on postmarketOS. 'K, I have a binary for it, I can send it, but if you don't trust random multi-megabyte binaries (and you shouldn't), it looks like it's as easy as building for musl, because that libc supports static linking. Then that can be used on any distro, even weird ones like Nix. Source - https://stackoverflow.com/a/31778003 rustup target add x86_64-unknown-linux-musl cargo build --target=x86_64-unknown-linux-musl
