Oh, at last a open 2D printer! I've been waiting for this. If it's successful, It'll be the last printer I buy.

Browsers unfortunately autoplay animations without consent which is annoying.

Everyone relays everyone's packets.
Meshcore requires some infrastructure nodes that route the traffic and regular nodes don't relay. Meshcore allows longer distances. Meshcore's official app is also closed source, but there is a open source alternative being developed.

Firefox started to show weather in empty tabs without asking me. It asked if I want to see weather in my location. Options are "Not now" and "Yes". Clicking on "Not now" made it show weather in New York. Naturally there is no option "I don't want to see weather in empty tabs".
Another example of hostile UI design and decline of Firefox.

Key management is manual, but if you got keys setup correctly it should be quite safe. I'm not an encryption expert bug I've understood AES256-CTR is considered good.

I know that in Portugal's power outages they were useful when cell phones stopped working. But yes, they need to exist before the crisis happens. Now it's too late to put orders in.
I have problem with my Heltec V3 node. I installed a 150 Ah LiPo battery in it, stolen from cat toy. Lasted 2 hours 20 minutes.
Now it's again in state that connecting USB power just lights up the red light. Nothing else. The light went out after a while so I suppose it's fully charged now.
It seems the device doesn't reset itself to booting state after power is restored.
Anyone else noticed this and is there any solution? It's unusable with battery as it is.

@onechrisn Nope, those buttons don't do anything when it's in this state. Probably the uC is in some weird power save/crashed state.
2Ah battery won't fit the case, the 150mAh was the largest (and only) battery I could find that fits. Probably a 200-300mAh would fit but I don't have one available.

@lritter @sturmsucht pure P2P is difficult. You for example don't get messages unless your device is on and app running.. For that you'd need some kind of storage & metadata servers but then it becomes more like Matrix or other federated messenger.

But unfortunately the performance issue is still unresolved. Loading different views takes several minutes. I suppose this also causes mobile clients to crash or fail.

For hundreds of users one to many broadcasts with Peertube would probably be a good solution.
