RE: @anarodrigues@front-end.social
THIS.
And partly because on the job you so rarely get the freedom to go bananas. I remember before I got into freelance, Nebula.TV had a job opening and by all accounts I went bananas on my resume using #Inkscape. I got an interview BECAUSE I did that—they said the applications were all so homogeneous, it was fun to see something different.
After 59 years and a complete rebuild from the keel up, Tally Ho is back in England, where it was built in 1910.
I started following the project on YouTube in 2021 or so. It's been quite the adventure to watch its weekly progress.

You criticize OP for lacking context, and yet you supply none.
You call it propaganda, and yet you present no evidence.
OP did not misconstrue events—Senate members are redrawing the map of Pearson's district to split the democratic vote, aka gerrymandering.
Pearson as a House member is allowed to attend Senate meetings, & vice versa.
Republicans moved the meeting location without notice and locked the room to block Pearson, his colleagues and the public from attending.

#TIL if you're a #WebDev on #Linux you might want to put a `.nomedia` file in your project folders.
GNOME's system-wide search will index project folders in your home directory. This includes nodes_modules/ and it wastes a lot of CPU time indexing those folders. The `.nomedia` file tells it not to index whatever folder that file is in.
I noticed this in the “Resources” app when I had it sort by “Total CPU Time.”

There's plenty of articles on it.
The NPR article shows how they're going to split the Memphis area across 3 districts. The census data shows this an obvious example of gerrymandering.

@globalmuseum@mastodon.online always neat to see extant species today that give a window to the distant past.
Just a heads up—might want to add a disclaimer that this footage is ai-generated. The channel in question claims to use ai mainly to show what extinct animals could look like. I'm not totally against that idea, just that this video makes it seem like it's real footage.
ie. they uploaded this video of crabs, and the description says they use AI for difficult to film situations: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/TAkCD_eKRPc

@stefan@stefanbohacek.online oddly I used to never used to use “😆” and I recall being able to tell who reacted to a Slack message having one co-worker who used “😆” more than anyone else. But, I guess emoji tastes change.
Maybe that's another idea for your emoji app—emojis habits over time. 😁
New Paul Chadeisson video!

@Gargron As an American I also feel the same.
For one of my posts I did draft and delete a comment saying something similar, but didn't want to feel like a downer. I respect the honesty.
The other side of it is that the current US budget means NASA is killing science missions to ensure putting humans back on the moon is it's #1 priority. In 2026 I don't believe the scientific value is there to choose the least economic way to study the moon.

@bud_t the weird part of those asks is while I get liking the video is important for YouTubers to stay in the algorithm, the "don't forget to hit the bell" always kinda drives me nuts.
I happily get 0 notifications about anything YouTube related, I'll check the next time I'm using it. In general I go for an async lifestyle.
The idea of everyone interrupting their day to watch a YouTube video the moment that it's uploaded is, just so insane to me.

@davidrevoy@framapiaf.org Thanks for investigating this with Huion.
My initial thought was the tech person didn't really look into it, but agency life has taught me that client <-> dev comm easily turns into a game of telephone. “Wacom” was all marketing needed to hear, and anything else the tech team said was likely reworded.
Their driver makes "launch on login" opaque to configure and OpenTabletDriver has some problems with my Huion. But, good to know their software likely doesn't have telemetry.

@jaffathecake as a web dev who also does some WebGL work, I despise making 2D UIs in game engines. I'm usually just overlaying HTML. So, the opportunity to more immersively integrate a 2D CSS UI in a 3D world sounds awesome.

@threadi@mastodon.social @annika@xoxo.zone @mwl@io.mwl.io yeah my understanding is this is a quirk of using float: left, which was designed with text wrapping around images in mind.
If using flex with wrap is a possibility, it would solve this.

@BlenderStudio@mastodon.social very interesting. I'm assuming this would be a 1-2 year project. Getting a team that's used to shorter projects to stick to a render stack and design aesthetic for that long without wanting to redo things seems like it's own challenge.
I'd be curious if Blender starts totally fresh or picks an existing short film to adapt to a feature length.

I love the sci-fi films from Paul Chadeisson and Ian Hubert, the hand-painted feel of Flow, and the cartoony Sprite Fright. Hard to say I'm hoping for a specific genre or style, I think I'd enjoy whatever it is.

One thing that stands out to me in this footage is how detailed both the indoor and outdoor scenes are. They clearly spent a lot of time making the environments feel lived in and organic.
