@debacle@framapiaf.org @typst@mastodon.social For what purpose? I'm a contributor to all three and maintainer of one and find they all have a place in my production work, but none is universally better at everything.

@Okuna@social.tchncs.de I doubt your problem is the choice of ISO. It sounds like your problem is Virtual Box. Either you don't have the right CPU settings in there or perhaps in your BIOS you do not have virtualization extensions enabled. What host OS are you using? Is it possible you used an i686 host OS to run VB? Same CPU in a FW13 here by the way, and I've tried tones of images on it without much hiccups. Arch for primary of course but have booted many other images on it. Great system.

Averaging my observation of developers over the decades I can say there is a significant direct –but not universal– correlation between those who have historically produced the sloppiest commit message histories and those who are now embracing the vibe coding mentality.

@guy_bockamp Yes. I have the FW13. Surprisingly tactile for the profile ... not like '90s era laptops with 7mm travel but still nice action. And blank caps are chefs kiss since I don't use standard layouts anyway. The FW16 I understand has nicer firmware with a GUI to remap keys, but the FW13 actually has a programmable firmware too, the only catch being a bit cryptic commands to get there and you have to do it after the power is on each time since the changes don't survive power off.

@seanpm2001@techhub.social No, as a general rule shaping can only be applied to glyphs inside a single font. Styles like italic and weights are identified as different fonts. If you really need to accomplish this you need to subset both fonts then combine them again with mix-matched subsets to put all the marks you need in the same font face. Then just hope the mark anchors are in the same place across faces.

@zormit @teamtype @sanchithhegde Not to my knowledge, but it is still interesting because the editor UI itself uses a collaboration protocol internally so you can open up multiple editor instances editing the same file. It isn't just a headless UI either, it's using a collaboration protocol internally for collaborating between editors which would map 1-to-1 to between users.

@webbeef @servo It is frustrating to watch app after app struggle|e to reinvent tiling — as if tiling window managers didn't exist. I grant there is some use for an additional layer of tiling (I use tmux panes and vim splits and other app spacific side-by-side views) but these browser tiling implementations always seem to start with the assumption the window manager has nothing for them.

@webbeef Hey just a post script ... I should have noted who my frustration was directed *towards*. I failed to communicate well there. Given that most apps I've seen try to do this are primarily targeting platforms without sane window management this really isn't on them. It's squarely on Apple & Microsoft for keeping nice things away from their users. Linux has pushed forward many different window management paradigms and some flavor of tiling has now ended up in almost every major DE there is.

@Okuna@social.tchncs.de The AMD Ryzen in an x86_64 architecture. The error you showed indicated that it was *expecting* and couldn't find an x86_64 hardware platform. Instead it found a 32 bit CPU that last released in the era of Intel Pentium and AMD Duron chips! In other words the AMD ISO you downloaded is correct for your actual hardware but what you gave in in the virtual machine was 32 bit and it is completely understandable that a modern distro ISO labeled AMD would not support it!
