Designer, artist, iPhone Notes limit pusher. I know the difference between a "font" and a "typeface", but I'm not obnoxious about it.

A note: while I CW the occasional political post, I don't typically CW things like faces or food. My art is weird, often includes eyes/faces/masks, and can be (I'm told) eerie.

@donkey@mastodon.nz @gedeonm@mastodon.social I did share a video of one of these a few days ago: https://vimeo.com/1231834037
Notes, unfortunately, does not have Linea Sketch's awesome recording feature, and I don't really want to record the entire screen, so I take a lot of screenshots. I have an enormous number of them at this point—just need to stitch them into videos.

@gedeonm@mastodon.social This is probably because I identify with both of them more than I realize.
Like, there have been so many scenes where Worf or Data are talking to one of the other characters about some quintessentially human situation; and Worf will just scowl and say something like "That is frivolous" and I'm like, that's exactly how I would have reacted if I wasn't such a nice person.

@gedeonm@mastodon.social I realize who I'm talking to here, but this would be a fantastic app icon.
The illustrative style would pique my interest more than the standard-issue faux-Pixar aesthetic ever does.

@gedeonm@mastodon.social ...anybody zoom in on the footage yet and see if there's a string or a really thin stick or something connected to his hand?

@gedeonm@mastodon.social @donkey@mastodon.nz I'll admit I did set up a Siri Shortcut that saves a copy of the current image when triggered by Back Tap. So I do have a version control system of sorts (and that has come in handy on several occasions).
The interesting thing about Notes is that it saves strokes as discrete, selectable objects, not just raw pixels. If I'm careful, I can select and move/rotate/scale portions of the drawing. Not layers, but it approximates a rough group manipulation feature that's useful.

Replying to
@gedeonm@mastodon.social Worf and anyone else, honestly.
I've always found Worf fascinating, in the way that Data is fascinating. They're more similar than they seem: very different personality-wise, true, but fundamentally logical, purposeful people who are often annoyed/confused respectively by the unfocused or irrational behavior of those around them. Kind of an interesting lens to watch the rest of humanity through (and I'm using the term "humanity" loosely here, at least in the strictly biological sense).
