I work for a national telecommunications company to help ensure accessibility across web and mobile. I code for leisure, fun and accessibility.
I geek out on sci-fi movies and am constantly reading.
I enjoy the odd game here and there.
I watch comedy with my wife, horror with my daughter, and more serious scary stuff with the dog.
I listen to classical when working, and scare off cats to pop, showtunes and country when tidying.
So the LLM says
> "The image features a spacecraft in orbit above the surface of the Moon. The spacecraft is cylindrical with solar panels extending outward on either side. It appears metallic and reflects light from the surface below. The Moon's surface is gray and cratered, stretching across the bottom half of the image. In the background, Earth is visible, showing the blue and white colors of the oceans and clouds against the blackness of space. The Earth appears partly illuminated by sunlight."
The BBC's alt text says
> "A cylinidrical spacecraft with four solar palanets emerging from it like an X flies over the lunar surface with the Earth in frun tof it inth eblackness of space"
And we wonder why people are trying to automate this stuff?
Here we go again then, second time in 3 weeks. Let's turn up the fans again!
Monday.
Baby actually slept for just under 4 straight hours. I've not got a headache for the first day in weeks, Amazing!
I've also found myself enjoying the prospect of revisiting the 1990's door game Usurper, which has been modernised by a developer considerate of accessibility, which is pretty cool.
Parent Pay, whom our older kid's school use for money, have decided to redesign their website. The old direct login URL broke, and the "parent login" link on their page isn't keyboard focusable. Fun
Easily misinterpreted alt text from the bbc here.
Did she really 'blow out' the carer, I wonder?
I know that the wife hasn't deliberately chosen the night I have a headache to play pop music while we do the grocery shop. But it certainly feels like it a little bit.
Even the baby didn't settle to his usual piano album tonight, we had to do a few shanties.
Saturday.
Baby Bertie's teething again, so things are getting a bit loud here. he wouldn't settle very early last night, but I did get to watch Boulter's electrifying performance at the Queen's Club yesterday on the TV. She was in fine form! I'm looking forward to see how she deals with Vekic this afternoon.
It's a lovely, sunny day here.
Thursday. Yet again, I'm off on a jolly to participate in some research. These university-types do like their blind people to do tests on! A solid entry in the "can you hear me?" bingo on this train, I'd heard it before we even hit our first stop from a passenger across the isle. The weather couldn't be more different from May's outing - it's very much on the cats and dogs level today.
@DerryLawlor@leaseysocial.com Ooh, a new mastodon instance Derry? Hope the changeover was smooth! I've never moved.
am I going mad, or did someone code a cool windows tool that could capture audio from a specific process? Anyone have a clue what I'm talking about?
So I tend to read more serious #Fanfiction as a rule, but this amused me enough to keep going.
The video game chapter was funny, Dudley was great, and the detention scene was laugh-out-loud.
I Am Not a Robot By Hollow Body
The daily life of Harry Potter and his girlfriend Daphne Greengrass, who is definitely (not) a robot. Chapters: 30 - Words: 139,231 -

Poor Capptain Kirk. Reduced to driving around in a pickup.
The joys of being a screen reader user, eh? Some days I'm not sure I've quite got the constitution for it.
