No matter how many times I tried again it didn't work. However on the computer it works straight away. Which voice and dialect did you try that crashing on? All these voices seem to be high quality neural ones. Lisa reminds me of the Nicky voice on iPhone the US what used to be Siri voice from back in the day.

@rommix0 @MutedTrampet @TheQuinbox Nope it didn't have any constant speech at all. That's a shame you got that one though because I thought I was going to get that one, but I didn't. I much prefer that audapter like speech. I can make the bestspeech add-on slightly make it though, set headsize to 3 and the pitch slightly lower if you modify the bestspeech.py file where the min and max pitches are. Changing the values can produce interesting and squeeky effects

@Lino0876 @simon Same here. I was amazed too. It's not as if I use it for essays and such now, just to get my Braille skills up a bit. I find perkins braillers just a bit too clanky.

@TheQuinbox I. Have. Both. The. L. M. 4. thousand. and. 6. thousand. OK I'll stop that now. But yes, the LM-4000 does have TTS, but it's like the LM-6000 on full speech mode turned off. If you press the say key, the last key from where the screen is, it does speak the word out. But it just doesn't speak definitions. I also have the bestspeech and L&H models too.

@Lino0876 @simon hell yeah, still works great, had it since 2015 from an ex Hereford RNC student. Battery had to be replaced, but still works like it's good as new. Braille cells work, Jaws as loud as it always is. Jaws for pocket PC is ready. Version 4.1, today. Tap here to set owner information. Battery 100 percent.

@SeveraSnape@mastodon.social I've had exactly that. Like a toy like bop it and you realise there's different ways of playing it, the bop it button to be exact. Little did I know, the mode just called bop it takes you to a high score of 50 I think it is, unlocks a shed ton of voices for you and saves you doing work. Also the woopy cushion mode. It's those neat little discoveries that you think "Oh I didn't realise the toy could do that!"
