Due to internal changes, if you get buffers with empty items on Mastodon, you may need to remove your database files from %appdata%/tweesecake, or userdata for portable setups.

Today in the Kitchen at Cake HQ: A quick patch to keep things running smoothly! Mastodon gets fixes for profile editing on instances with more than 4 fields, instance URL fixing, blank items on remote instance timelines, conversation errors when statuses are deleted, and a fix for loading bookmarks. https://tweesecake.app/changes

@cachondo The link to the changelog is on the download page and there is also a changelog.txt file in the directory.

@techsinger Hahaha. You're running FastSM, and that's what's doing it. I just looked and TC's code doesn't say stream connection lost anywhere, FastSM's does.

@VE3RWJ So even if the app is being ran portably, unless you do it manually, it still saves data to %appdata%\TweeseCake. So you should press windows+r, type %appdata%\TweeseCake and then remove the DB files and data folder from your mastodon-x folders where x is the number.

Replying to
@VE3RWJ basically, you just want to be left with the session.json file, and the session.json.bak file.

@silveraura7 Yes, delete those as well just to be safe. But do it with the app closed of course or it won't let you

@techsinger Could be an issue with either your connection or the instance. We're on the same instance as you are here and don't see that message.

@techsinger NVDA's gotten kind of weird about things that it actually passes through the dictionary now adays. It used to be that anything that was spoken was passed through, now that's not always the case.

@techsinger not 100% sure of course, but in the past that's what silent posts in remote timelines signified.

@FreakyFwoof@universeodon.com Bryn here. I'm able to perform user searches in TC this end. Post searches not, because my instance doesn't have elasticsearch enabled. Maybe your instance isn't correctly set up for searching? I've always found Mastodon searching to be super unreliable in general.

@FreakyFwoof@universeodon.com Aha, maybe post/hashtag search is broken in general then. Are you able to search for users?
