@ChrisMayLA6@mastodon.me.uk @TCatInReality@mastodon.social it’s such an obvious case of natural monopoly I’m surprised Adam Smith didn’t rise from his grave to smack Thatcher in the head with “wealth of nations”

@ChrisMayLA6@mastodon.me.uk it is mad that fishing gets more press, when its economic impact on the U.K. is minuscule. It is culturally fine to have no interest in learning, denigrate expertise and intellectual work vs “real jobs”. For a country that, for now at least, punches above its weight in international scholarship it’s suicide.

@ChrisMayLA6 this completely destroys any of the confidence I had that this is a government that cares about our interests. As far as I’m concerned Labour are now just as bad as Reform or the Tories.

@christineburns@mastodon.green so far (very short city drives) it’s comfortable and easy to drive, albeit with a shocking 1.7 miles/kWh. Most likely due to sitting in it with the aircon blowing while we figure out all the bells and whistles I’m sure, it will get better.

@karamazov1879 @micchiato greatly disappointed in the USA supporting a genocidal regime. Maybe it’s those 500 years of genociding native Americans that’s catching up with them.

@ChrisMayLA6@zirk.us for me this confirms my choice of supporting the Greens. I hope it also convinces Labour that they are on a wrong path, and that turning left is the only way for them to survive. I am doubtful Starmer and his cadre are even capable of learning that lesson, but we’ll see.

Trump described Iranians as one of the most evil people on earth. Of course it’s a lie, it’s a rich 5,000 year old civilisation. Not that Trump would recognise civilised if a library was dropped on him.

@ReggieHere oh absolutely, and that is the biggest step. Once people/companies are on a system like this it is much easier to move to another host or self host than if still in a big tech cloud. Really hoping to do this for my family soon.
